Bethel accepts teenagers

Two new girls arrived at Bethel Girls Academy this week, almost a month after 38 teenagers were removed from the facility by state officials.

?They arrived here on Tuesday and have been going through orientation,? said Herman Fountain Jr., director of the academy. ?We have been getting calls every day from parents who want to send their children here.?

Fountain said one of the girls is from Washington and the other is from Georgia.

On May 19, officials with the Mississippi Department of Human Service and the Mississippi Department of Health removed all 38 residents of the Bethel home, citing allegations of abuse, but the home was never ordered to close its doors.

At least we know that the Attorney General's office isn't willing to look the other way.  How many times does Bethel have to make the news for abusing children?  Why, if there is no corruption, does the State of Mississippi continue to look the other way???

There is so much governmental corruption right now. Look at what happened in Iraq.  It's not surprising that those who are elected and hired to protect the interests of American citizens aren't doing their job.  All these people care about is the next election.  This is why these programs continue to exist. The owners and opperators give political donations to those in positions of authority.
