"Of course they wouldn't....they're on active duty.  I spoke to my stepdad today...Vietnam vet...he and his special forces buddies ALL refer to the Vietnamese as "gooks".  I don't think it's particularly appropriate, but hey they're the ones who went through the shit over there, not me.

I wouldn't go poking this thing with a stick unless you have some real experience in it yourself.

The world is so exquisite, with so much love and moral
depth, that there is no reason to deceive ourselves with pretty stories for which there's no good evidence. Far better, it seems to me, to look death in the eye and to be grateful every day for the brief but magnificent opportunity that life provides.

Not all of our troops are like that.  It's just the ones making headline news.

Well I guess "throwing your life away in the military" is better than throwing it away on smack.
Its not for everyone but its a great way to pay for 4 years of college if you have no other means. Comraderie and friendships, I have life long friends that would do anything for me or me for them.
If we didn't have people "throwing their lives away in the military" your ass would be jones'in for your methadone under another countries flag. And I doubt they would have a tax payer funded meth program, probably just throw their junkies in jail to rot.
Ok Therion....go ahead and flame me      [ This Message was edited by: thepatriot on 2004-06-18 04:59 ]
