Nah its not that bad... Iam rally gald to meet someone else who comes from around here tho most Elan people are from the northside.... What years were you there? Maybe someday we could do lunch or something in Orland or Oakforest where its safe lol........ :grin:

I was there '92 to '94, in E-3. When were you there? Hey, I'm up for doing lunch some damn time. But only if you are one of the cool kids. I might lose my membership to the country club and get my BMW taken away if I fraternize with anyone who's not taking flight lessons while on holiday from an Ivy League school.

It's really a pretty cool place to live. Within a 15 mile radius, you can hit huge mansions, high-rise projects, strip clubs(from the seedy to the 'I can't afford the cover charge', racetracks (both dog and car), gated luxury golf courses, 5-star restaurants and a Hooters about every 10 blocks. And the cars! Some of the baddest cars in the country are driving around here every weekend. Walk around Orland Square Mall and the girls look like they do on Rodeo Drive in L.A. I've been carjacked twice, once in Chicago Heights and once in Joliet. NEITHER time did I give up my ride. All of this 20 minutes from the coolest city in the country. (I haven't been to Vegas yet, but it would take a lot to shift my allegiance from Chi-Town). Say what you will about suburban life, but it's NEVER dull 'round here. And for the record, I raise hell on Rt. 30 just about every damn day! You know that that's Route 66 too, right? Screw the north side. We're where it's at, brotha!

Orland malls ok,   do you remember breman town mall? I think it was there before any of them , except Dixie square which is a hell whole now.... Sorry to here you had such a hard time in those towns chi-town girl guess I have been lucky... been here my whole life and never had that happen, I do agree tho ya gotta be careful around here it can change in the matter of one block. HEY AND YOUR RIGHT SOUTHSIDE RULES!  ::cheers::

Yeah, Bremen Mall is still there, if only in a structural sense. When I was in high school I used to go to the movie theatre there, and then the arcade. For a little tiny mall, that place was sure jumping. My boyfriend at the time was among the many doing doughnuts and burnouts in the parking lot. He had a '75 Firebird!  ::cheers::  :smokin:

Wow that brings back some memories.I spent tons of time in the bremen mall.My cousins lived 1 block south of 159th street,1000 ft from that place.Jim Kaat lived in a townhouse across the street
