What kind of work do you people do all day that allows you to be posting for 5 hours? Amazing! Alex has said before that he is at work when he is posting, I want that kind of job! If you are not at work, what the hell are you doing spending all of your time engaged in such "pussy, yenta, wife beating, crack-headed" garbage? You people really do need to get a life outside of this forum, maybe then you would not find as much time to slam each other with nothing much ever being said.

my guess would be something with computers and not something in the supermarket checkout line like yourself

when you get a "real job" they don't watch you all day long

there I just gave you something to aspire to

My guess is everyone is posting from their local public library and they have all day to post becuase they are on welfare or SSI with some made up "disability" like ADD, Bipolar, XYZ, Chronic Loser Syndrome or the like.  Just like you skankgoddess; now please stop disturbing those kiddies in the library.

I graduated and I don't think I'm a monster.  Just like we haven't walked in your shoes re: heroin/methadone addiction, you haven't walked in ours.  There were reasons why I stayed.  Mostly fear.  I lived in fear for most of my life for a lot of different reasons.  You don't know the circumstances surrounding how I handled being in Straight. I sat on first phase for 8 months the first time, got up to 4th eventually, got started over for something stupid and two years later I made my way through.  I didn't go on staff, shortly after I graduated I left home because I hated living under Straights control through my dad.  I'm sure I confronted people while I was in there and hurt some people.  That's the most difficult thing to deal with.  I never sat on anyone, but they never asked me to because I didn't weigh but about 90 lbs.  I didn't fight because I was too scared.  I just kinda went along and tried not to piss anyone off.  A lot of how I reacted has to do with my relationship with my father.  I won't bore you with those details but he is the core of why I didn't feel like it was an option to run.  Just because I graduated doesn't mean I'm a monster.  I wish I did[/b] have the guts/confidence or whatever to fight back then, but I didn't.

Just to make things clear, I did not want to stay there.  I felt like I had no choice for a lot of different reasons.  One, I had lived in St. Pete my whole life and had seen friends go in and out of Straight.  I knew[/b] what happened to people who ran.  At first I really thought my parents would take me out once they realized the horrible mistake they made.  I didn't feel like I had anywhere to go or have any idea what to do if I did run.  My dad got the whole famdamly believing the bullshit.  I didn't get brainwashed into thinking that Straight was a good place, I always knew it was abusive....I just felt like I brought it on myself.  It wasn't until the last few years that I finally stopped believing that.  A lot of girls who went in there had sexual abuse issues from childhood and those names they used to call us, slut/whore/bitch etc., had an effect on me.  After being in there for a while I just figured I was pretty worthless.

I wanted to leave, believe me....I just didn't know how.  I wasn't capable at the time.

When will you take off your clothes....
America after all it is you and I who are perfect
Not the next world.

I don't think people should be made to feel guilty because they didn't run, didn't misbehave, ect. Each person did whatever they did to make it in a fucked up situation.

The only people I think are responsible are the execs and the people behind the program. I tried all different tatics in there and in the end none of them worked what worked was Child protective services cracking down on the program which forced staff to send the misbehavers out to pysch wards for evaluations so it looked like they were doing there jobs.

The theory that you were not getting out unless you were graduated or pulled is an accurate one. Don't feel quilty because you worked the program to get out. Thats bullshit.

I am not of the mindset that all staff should die either, I do not wish death upon anyone. That in itself speaks volumes about the charecter of the person who would say (or type) those words. They are no better then staff. And do not blame Straight that is just a cop-out. pardon the phrase. I disliked a lot of staff in my program but I don't wish death on anyone when they make me do that then they have really won.

Other than the quote above, I agree with you, Kaydee.  There are people other than unapologetic ex-Staff that I wish were dead, too: Child molesters, rapists, pimps that get runaway girls strung out on hard drugs to keep them around, etc.  I don't have a problem with wishing those people agonizing deaths.  I wouldn't act on those desires, of course, nor do I think it would be an ideal world if I sat in judgement of everyone.  However, there are shitheads encased in human flesh that I would just as soon see dead as alive, and if I hear of their demise I would definitely celebrate, even if only by cracking a beer in private and thinking to myself how good it is to breathe air that is uncontaminated by the breaths of these individuals.  Miller Newton, for example.  If I were to read that he keeled over and died in painful convulsions, soiling himself as he lost control of his bladder and bowels, I would heartily laugh and celebrate.  The only sorrow I would feel would be because he didn't die of AIDS from getting gang-raped in prison, and that each Survivor didn't have a chance to personally confront him for the crimes he committed against us when we were children.  I guess I want him to live long enough to be deposed in Pumpgate and any other outstanding legal issues that are pending, but if I were to hear of his slow, painful death, I would probably laugh and phone a couple of other survivors to share the good news and plan the party at his gravesite.  You seem like a very sweet girl, Kaydee, and I think it's great that you're such a kind and forgiving person that you don't wish death on anyone, but to degrade me and others who feel as I do for wishing misfortune on those criminals by saying that we are no different than them is insulting and uncalled for.  I wonder if you would say the same about a rape victim who wished death upon her assailant, that she is no better than he is.

well to put it into perspective, I am also against the death penalty

I just do not believe in taking lives, I can see your point though in saying that I was harsh to paint you all in the same light as the offenders just because you feel that way

I also don't eat meat

I know you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard was not what I meant.

I'm not particularly fond of state executions myself. I think that murder should be carried out on a personal, individualized level with tools such as the cleaver, the axe, the knife, or a sturdy club of some sort. Most preferable to me is the bare hands. I am 100% against the use of guns. Purely for sissies. If you're going to kill someone, do it right and do it honorably. And by the way, I DO eat meat.
