I am not of the mindset that all staff should die either, I do not wish death upon anyone. That in itself speaks volumes about the charecter of the person who would say (or type) those words. I disliked a lot of staff in my program but I don't wish death on anyone when they make me do that then they have really won.
Other than the quote above, I agree with you, Kaydee. There are people other than unapologetic ex-Staff that I wish were dead, too: Child molesters, rapists, pimps that get runaway girls strung out on hard drugs to keep them around, etc. I don't have a problem with wishing those people agonizing deaths. I wouldn't act on those desires, of course, nor do I think it would be an ideal world if I sat in judgement of everyone. However, there are shitheads encased in human flesh that I would just as soon see dead as alive, and if I hear of their demise I would definitely celebrate, even if only by cracking a beer in private and thinking to myself how good it is to breathe air that is uncontaminated by the breaths of these individuals. Miller Newton, for example. If I were to read that he keeled over and died in painful convulsions, soiling himself as he lost control of his bladder and bowels, I would heartily laugh and celebrate. The only sorrow I would feel would be because he didn't die of AIDS from getting gang-raped in prison, and that each Survivor didn't have a chance to personally confront him for the crimes he committed against us when we were children. I guess I want him to live long enough to be deposed in Pumpgate and any other outstanding legal issues that are pending, but if I were to hear of his slow, painful death, I would probably laugh and phone a couple of other survivors to share the good news and plan the party at his gravesite. You seem like a very sweet girl, Kaydee, and I think it's great that you're such a kind and forgiving person that you don't wish death on anyone, but to degrade me and others who feel as I do for wishing misfortune on those criminals by saying that we are no different than them is insulting and uncalled for. I wonder if you would say the same about a rape victim who wished death upon her assailant, that she is no better than he is.
