Craig Rogers of ALA do you apply all scripture to your life
« on: March 30, 2004, 08:24:00 PM »
You do not sound at all like a Christian in your postings. Didn't Jesus say to turn the other cheek?

This is a quote from the Bible.  Do you not have enough faith in Jesus to do as he has instructed you to do?  It sounds to me like from this post you really don't have much faith at all.  It sounds to me like you use God's word when it suits your purpose.

"But if any one strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also; and if any one would sue you and take your coat, let him have your cloak as well; and if any one forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles. "

You don't sound anything like what you preach.

Would Jesus make such a threat, demand or what ever you would like to call it.

Sounds like based on your quote below "ye are a man of little faith."

Dear Ginger et al,

I was going to contact my attorney tomorrow and ask him to review the Fornit's Web Forums, especially the area that pretains to me, and Abundant Life Academy. I was hoping that with some research there would be others who have been hurt by Fornits. That way if there are others who have sued you due to the fact that you allow good people and businesses to be slandered and businesses to be hurt by your forums.

Now I have found this particular forum very interesting. I can easily find out who Sue's attorneys are, and I can have my attorney contact them. I thought that you were responsible for this injustice. I did not know how you could let this go on without some kind of retribution or consequence befall you. You can save yourself a whole lot of hassle by taking the posts and replies about Craig Rogers and Abundant Life Academy off the Fornits site.

I have had several people call me about these postings. If anyone is turned away from Abundant Life Academy because of this I will make sure that my attorney looks into this more seriously. Right now we are just researching our options. However, you can make this much easier on yourself by removing the slanderous statements and the personal attacks against myself and Abundant Life Academy.

My attorney happens to be a partial owner of another academy similar to Abundant Life Academy. I found references to his school on this forum. I dont think I would have a problem getting him to work on this case. I believe in freedom of speech, but I also believe in the laws that protect me from slanderous defamation.

Please consider my offer.

Consider your offer or ......?

Craig is obviously just another blow-hard.  First we hear all kinds of threat of legal action and then this coward withdraws his threat in lieu of an offer.

Craig you are totally spineless.  In the future, when you threaten legal action be prepared to do it, not just bluster for a day or two to see how everyone will react.

Ginger has made clear your associates and you are suspicious.  That's good enough for me!

How have I done that?

The right of self-defense is the first law of nature; in most governments it has been the study of rulers to confine this right within the narrowest possible limits. ... and [when] the right of the people to keep and bear arms is, under any color or pretext whatsoever, prohibited, liberty, if not already annihilated, is on the brink of destruction.

Isn't it illegal to threaten a lawsuit if you don't follow through?

I doubt it Deb. After all, wouldn't most people be glad it wasn't 'followed threw' with?
Even if it were, I'm sure it isn't, to say your thinking about legal action.
It is however illegal to threaten to hack, chop, slice, people up. Its called terroristic threatening.
Even if not taken seriously; it is still an actionable offence. It is not OK to Joke about butchering people.

If you are referring to my posts, I'll have you know that IT WAS NO JOKE. If the urge seizes me, believe that I would not hesitate to HUNT YOU DOWN AND HACK YOUR SORRY ASS TO DEATH. Sure, it would be a little more difficult to find you since you choose to post anonymously, but like my dear old dad used to say, when there's a will, there's a way...

Back when I was trying to get my son released from Hell, someone told me NOT to threaten legal action unless I was going to follow through because they could turn around and sue me. Apparently viewed as coercion, manipulation, blackmail. Then again, whoever said it may have lied. I certainly encountered some folks who had little to no integrity.

I think the thing about not following through with a lawsuit being illegal actually falls under the category of harrassment.  I'm not sure though, but I highly doubt that if someone threatens one or two suits and doesn't file that they'll be sued.  Someone can believe they have a suit, threaten it and then find out that they really have no grounds and decide not to file.  If they continue to threaten it and never file, that would be considered harrassment.

Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed people can change the world. Indeed it is the only thing that ever has.

From my point of view, there are probably a lot of statements and threats against me in these fora that could be actionable. I'm just extremely disinclined to envoke force of law on false pretense. I find life is just so much simpler the way my father and my grandmother taught me to think. And their voices keep ringing through my head.

"Don't draw down unless you intend to fire, don't fire unless you intend to kill."

"Sticks and stones my break my bones, but words will never hurt me."

"Walk if you can. Talk if you can. If you can't, win."

When the ad hominems come out, you've won. I think most people recognize that. I'd take legal action if I felt really scared and threatened by any of this. But I don't. And these kinds of exchanges really do serve the stated purpose of letting people get an uncensored look at the people and philosophies behind these programs. That's how the Vth Estate of Government is supposed to work.

There is a principle which is a bar against all information, which is
proof against all arguments and which cannot fail to keep a man in
everlasting ignorance- that principle is contempt prior to investigation.

The option I took- rather than threatening him myself- was to pay an attorney to write a letter stating my rights, how he was in violation of an agreement, what action was available, how the court would likely view it, and to offer him an out (to do the right thing). If you present in such a way it often brings the other person to their senses. Unless of course they have tons more money and resources, connections at the courthouse.... then they just crumple it and toss it in the trash. No real 'justice' in our legal system. Point being- apparently it wouldn't have been cool for me to threaten without serious intent. The letter from the attorney showed intent to act if the situation was not resloved to my satisfaction.

Similar to what Rogers did, but Rogers isn't an attorney and was not specific about his bitch or what he wanted, imho.
Why not just have his attorney write a letter? Why post the threat on a public message board?
What other motives might he have had for doing so?

And Ginger, I wasn't suggesting you act on this, just commenting.

Oh, I know, Deborah. I appreciate the sentiment. I agree, too. It's the height of hypocracy. But I think most interested readers can probably see that right off the bat. And the paid guns? Well, if they're that good, they should also note that there isn't a case against me cause I just don't go around making careless allegations. I just ask questions and some people take them a rhetorical and jump to confusions, as they say.

I think we're about on the same page.
