Red Rock Canyon School
« on: March 17, 2004, 01:41:00 AM »
Hi,
I am doing research on the Red Rock Canyon School and have had a hard time finding any unbiased info on the web. Other than the students and referrals that they have recommended that I see I have found no negative info.
Could someone out there give me there opinions and any relevant info?
Thank you very much,
SME :???:

Did you see the info from the Salt Lake Tribune on a student death (Katherine Lank) and an alleged sexual relationship?

And did you find anything else out?  I am looking for info as well.

Go to TAUSA....Teen Advocates USA.  There are articles about this school there.

Actually, the references made to TAUSA and the SLT lead to stories about a wilderness-type program near the school in question, and having a similar name, but that is actually NOT affiliated with the school.

One problem here is that most anything positive gets a torrent of countering, while at some sites, most anything negative gets similar treatment, if with a differrent style.  To get a "straight", honest response you can "rely" on is tough.  I'm familiar with the place, but you don't know me, nor I you.

So, how do you proceed?  A recent thread here had good suggestions, including to check with state licensing authorities, local law enforcement, various internet boards (like this, among others).  Consider what the parents whose names you got are saying, and how they say it.

Isn't this a WWASP school?
I'd surely check with ISAC for information.

Red Rock Academy
Red Rock School

One is defunct, is it not?

Question is why?

And, does anyone know why the owner of Red Rock School's name appears in the WWASPS v. PURE lawsuit?

How about the name Gayle Palmer DeGraff?

Do your homework ... oh, and don't forget to say a prayer for Katie Lank, her family and friends.
