MK Ranch School
« on: June 16, 2002, 11:05:00 PM »
My daughter was a student at this school in New Mexico for 4 months.  I was wondering if anyone else has had a bad experience with them?  We have been trying to get a refund of approximately $25,000.00 for six months now.

Please feel free to email me privately if necessary.

What does MK stand for?
I am in touch with two other parents who are in the same situation. They have hired legal representation. But neither of these cases were in New Mexico, but at the same facility.
Parents should be aware that it might not make sense to pay tuition up-front. If for whatever reason the child leaves, you may not get a refund.
The facility's policy was to return any unused tuition regardless of the reason the child might leave early. They labled the parent "adversarial" and requested that the child be picked up. But when it came time to fork over the refund, they claimed that the parent had "withdrawn" the child.
Beware, Be Aware.

These programs are frauds at best and quite often dangerous cults. Stay away from them if not for your kid at least for your wallet. File criminal fraud charges that might get their attention.

I spent six months at the MK Ranch School in Reserve New Mexico, (July 2001-Feb. 2002). My experiance was not what it was intended to be. Durring my time there, some bad things happened, but I learned alot while I was there, I can only say that now though, I took me along time to get over that place. Please write back if you want to discuss more on this subject. My e-mail is Leaphoto79ohana@aol.com

Hey Leap,
I assume you are the anon poster in the Catherine Freer thread.
Did MK refer you to CF or did you attend CF prior to your stay at MK?
What were the most difficult things to get over?
