These programs are not the worst out there but are not the best. They have had a few kids die over the years they have schools all over the USA and jamacia. The last death was in the spring of 2002 a girl jumped from a 2nd story window.

The review is supposed to be about the Web Site.
Even so, there is much that needs commenting on.

The website information is inaccurate. I wonder who created it .

The Girl(Valerie) jumped from the balcony in August(summer) of 2001.  We were there at the time.

Any death of a child when the parent has entrusted their child into "loving, competent care",is not acceptable.

"she made a choice"  May the Lord forgive you for your ignorance.

Jeeez what some people will say....

On March 16, 2002, 13-year-old Brittanie Cecil was hit in the head by a stray puck at a Columbus Blue Jackets hockey game.  Two days later, she died from a rare injury to an artery that occurred when her head snapped back.

Brittanie's is the only known death in the National Hockey League's 86-year history.

Immediately after Brittanie's death, the NHL stepped up the "beware of flying pucks" warnings that were already being announced over P.A. systems and flashed on scoreboards and Jumbotrons.

Just days after Brittanie's death, a memorial fund was established in her honor.

The following season -- just months after Brittanie's death -- every NHL arena featured enlarged goal-zone safety nets designed to keep stray pucks from flying into the audience.

All this action resulted from one death.  There have be NO other deaths.

If only people cared as much about the specialty school/boot camp/adolescent "treatment" industry as they do about hockey safety!

For those who don't know, what are the facts about this death?  Accident, Suicide?  How long had the child been in the program? Any legal updates?

Valerie Ann Herron (or Heron - spellings vary) jumped from a balcony and broke her neck.  She was a drug addict and still suffering withdrawal.  She had been there only one day.  Jay Kay likes to maintain that she was probably trying to escape but, as I understand it, TB doesn't even have much of a fence around it so why the need to jump from a balcony?  Looks like suicide to me.

Unlike Corey Murphy and Chris Landre she does not, as far as I am aware, have a WWASP scholarship fund named after her suggesting that her parents were not overimpressed with WWASP.  I have heard of no court case or rumpus from the parents either so they probably settled out of court with the usual gagging clause.
