How do I stop these stupid quotes from coming up.  I don't want people to think that I'm some Liberal whacko in a field of daisies with a large doobie.... Help me please  :smokin:

I thought it was a gay thing too but that doesn't bother me.

But a non liberal?

Then I am out for blood!

Now, leme get this straight. A pothead wrote the script to spit out random quotes, many of which are drawn from the writings of some famous potheads, like Washington and Jefferson. Said pothead then incorporated the script into this enhanced forum software and then, thoughtfully (I thought, anyway) made it an "opt-in" feature which must be explicitly selected by the user. Now, for some damned reason, our very sober, clear thinking and str8 edged friend here can't figure out how to change his settings so as to not include quotes in his posts but, instead, has to ask a bunch of potheads and heroin junkies how to do it?

Have I got all this straight so far? Sort of flies in the face of all that bullshit about certain unpatentable drugs having delaterious effects on ppl's mental functions, eh?

I think Glitter Boy was remiss in calling the quotes here "stupid", but did he really deserve to get lambasted for it?  For the most part I like these forums, but oftentimes the anger, putdowns, and the like just seem to go way overboard.  Oh well, I guess it is Straight that made us all so damn confrontational.  :flame:

that in itself is poetic  ::rainbow::

Cleo, don't you think some of us who may have gathered and/or use these quotes might find the above to be a bit insulting? Do you think I'm some Liberal whacko in a field of daisies with a large doobie? If self defense is a good enough reason for homocide, I think a little good natured ribbing in self defense is probably in order according to the same logic.

And I failed to appreciate Crazy Mac's finely tuned sense of irony inselecting the quote below for Glitterboy.

Honestly, I thought the "Liberal/daisies/doobie" comment was sarcastically funny, particularly with the puffin' smiley punctuating the end.  Sober or no, if Glitter Boy really had a problem with toking, I don't think he would've used the word "doobie" or the puffin' smiley.  I was much more bothered by him calling the quotes "stupid".  Most of the ones I've read aren't stupid, and I realize that it must've taken a lot of work to get them all on here.

I just think folks are too quick to jump on other folks here.  For example, Kaydee could have made her point in response without the ALL CAPS (SHOUTING).  Maybe it's 'coz the subject matter here is often touchy, it gets people on edge...  Or Maybe I've just been spending too much time reading all the bad-heads on The Teen Help Industry Forum. :scared:

Actually, no. The key to good programing is profound lazziness. I like quotes. I like to use them a lot. Unfortunately, I do have a memory about like swiss cheeze anymore. Some stuff sticks, but not the fine detail. So I wrote this script to save me the trouble of looking up accurate quotes and attributions on the net, based on the concepts and synonyms that I can usually recall. Being as profoundly lazzy as I am, I decided it was too much trouble to pick out apt quotes, so I tweaked the script to spit out random ones. Naturally, I also made it very easy to add quotes.

If you have any you'd like included, just send them along to support@fornits.com and I'll consider stuffing them in there. Once again, too lazzy even to go looking for my own anymore!

Is uniformity [of opinion] attainable? Millions of innocent men, women, and children, since the introduction of Christianity, have been burnt, tortured, fined, imprisoned; yet we have not advanced one inch towards uniformity. What has been the effect of coercion? To make one half the world fools, and the other half hypocrites.
