Once I made a BLT...

Crispy with bacon, lettuce, and tomato.

Momma wanted one too, so I made her one.

Pappa wanted me too, so I made him one.

The bacon wasn't crisp, she said.

The lettuce wasn't crisp, he said.

The tomato wasn't ripe, they both said.

I'm not making you another, I replied.

The belt was not used, but they smiled.

That smile followed me like an aimless ghost.

I want some Kellog's Corn Flakes, because my throat hurts.
