Now Diamond Ranch Academy has forced LATalkradio to remove a show.

Here is a link to the letter from the legal representation for Diamond Ranch Academy.

Here is a link to the show which was censored from airing on LATalkRadio.

Two boys have died at Diamond Ranch Academy already. All this facility is doing to prevent further deaths is to silence all information about them.

Diamond Ranch Academy has filed a defamation lawsuit against the Schofields, to the tune of over a million dollars, partly "for punitive damages in an amount sufficient to punish and make an example."

Between their more or less constant torture, abuse, and "accidental" murder of "students" at DRA, I'm surprised they have time to file lawsuits.
...Sergey Blashchishen, James Shirey, Faith Finley, Katherine Rice, Ashlie Bunch, Brendan Blum, Caleb Jensen, Alex Cullinane, Rocco Magliozzi, Elisa Santry, Dillon Peak, Natalynndria Slim, Lenny Ortega, Angellika Arndt, Joey Aletriz, Martin Anderson, James White, Christening Garcia, Kasey Warner, Shirley Arciszewski, Linda Harris, Travis Parker, Omega Leach, Denis Maltez, Kevin Christie, Karlye Newman, Richard DeMaar, Alexis Richie, Shanice Nibbs, Levi Snyder, Natasha Newman, Gracie James, Michael Owens, Carlton Thomas, Taylor Mangham, Carnez Boone, Benjamin Lolley, Jessica Bradford's unnamed baby, Anthony Parker, Dysheka Streeter, Corey Foster, Joseph Winters, Bruce Staeger, Kenneth Barkley, Khalil Todd, Alec Lansing, Cristian Cuellar-Gonzales, Janaia Barnhart, a DRA victim who never even showed up in the news, and yet another unnamed girl at Summit School...

Reading this lawsuit, a few things become apparent:

- The justifications for Utah jurisdiction do not always work (their statements made it to Utah, so it's Utah jurisdiction!). Whether or not this kind of thing works entirely depends on the judge, and, given the nature of DRA and the local area, DRA's almost certainly in bed with the judge it's requested.
- DRA's still fucking stupid and supremely arrogant, because actual trial would be a wonderful way to bring out all of the dirty laundry it really doesn't want to have entered as evidence. I can't imagine it wants an actual trial. Probably just a way of intimidating them into settling (again, pure arrogance).
- It doesn't think the defendants have good lawyers. Maybe they don't. Maybe it would be a good time to get them some.

DRA has been harassing and intimidating students forever. Not sure them getting booted off Latalk radio is a bad thing, Susan Schofield is one crazy wackjob.

Too bad Art L. is running for congress, or was the last I heard, his show was always decent.

Diamond Ranch Academy has filed a second lawsuit, this time targeting the owner of DRAsurvivors.com.

http://jilliestake.blogspot.com/2014/11/diamond-ranch-academy-doubles-down-with.html

In my opinion, this makes them look weak, like they are trying to intimidate critics into silence. This suit is also asking for over a million dollars, "for punitive damages in an amount sufficient to punish and make an example". Reminds me of the days when WWASP was falling apart and suing people who exposed child abuse and deaths in their facilities.

If they win there is nothing to prevent them from lining up for death number 3 in their operation.

Why set their sights so low? I can see numbers way bigger than that.

This really begs the question: Why now?

There's the disturbing idea that DRA has found/bribed a Utahn judge to do its dirty work and is now using that judge to get rid of its enemies. One wonders why it hasn't done this sort of thing some time ago.

There's another possibility: Somebody, probably somebody who works/worked there, has access to the parents' contact information and is sending them links to those sites, so a few have finally wised up and pulled their kids.

DRA's motive: Money
« Reply #10 on: November 08, 2014, 01:41:09 AM »
It has and will always be about the money. The Save Victoria Campaign hurt them. A lot of former student let their stories being heard outside the Facebook groups at various blogs, Safeteens, Drasurvivors etc. for everyone to read. Any school can be safe if testimonies are kept in closed groups in social networks. If they appear in the open, it becomes dangerous. So they will try to take these public sites out by targeting the site owners. I know that some called in reinforcements reaching out to veteran bloggers fighting for the freedom of speech. It is a dangerous path because they don't care who they hurt. During the cartoon war 200 people were killed in the middle east as result of aggressive blogging aiding the already intense diplomatic crisis.

I do however feel that there is no choice. Only by letting DRA's attack be claimed as a general attack on the Freedom of Speech we can gather support enough to break DRA.

Here are some of the blog-entries. Most of them had no experience with this area. They just react because Freedom of Speech in Denmark is an area where Danes feel that it means Duty to Speech and a chance to lecture the world.

Some research show that they while they were operating from Idaho used 3 locations:

  • Timber Creek Ranch, Lemhi Valley, Salmon, Idaho
  • Swan Valley Ranch,  Jackson Hole, Wyoming
  • Pitchfork Ranch, Twin Falls or Boise, Idaho

Idaho does not equal Wyoming and Wyoming does not equal Idaho.

Yes. That is rather confusing. They used to own the domain-name: http://www.teenranch.org back in 2004 which is now belonging to some kind of activity in Scotland.

Having investigated it on the Internet Archive these 3 places where mentioned. Some years ago Rob Dias wrote a piece about how hard it was when he worked for another program before he started his own operation. We know that they were raided and made a deal to move out of state in exchange for the case to be dropped. We are looking to find this piece of information. A raid is always good information to throw at people regardless of the outcome. The battle has to be moved to their part of the field so they can be in the defensive instead of offensive.
