Straight wasn't so bad

I was in Straight in 1986, and it wasn't really that bad. By making us sit in out own feces and not letting us eat or drink, they were only trying to help us. You have to understand that as serious alcoholics and drug addicts, we needed treatment like this.

Yeah sitting in my shit not only got me off drugs, but it was a great help when I started doing German scat films to support my crack habit.

I like that.  It should be someones campaign slogan or something.  A true "green" party (and what a party it would be.)  "Legalize it" is so way '70s and makes weed seem like something that was rightfully prohibited in the first place.  "Free the Marijuana" sounds more like a big green friendly guy from sesame street or something that was unjustly nabbed in the middle of the night and sentenced to time in Abu Gharib or something.

Straight was some crazy shit, circus environment freak show of pain. More real than a bad acid trip, and embedded into young brains for life. I can't believe I was really there for so long. Why couldn't they have been a little more laid back? They were hysterical about stupid shit. Did you make eye contact with a girl? Did you wave at a druggie friend at school? Huh!? What were they thinking with this approach? Straight wasn't so bad...once you accepted it for what it was, hell.
