Cenikor

Has anyone here ever heard of Cenikor?  We used to be threatened in Straight about this place and KIDS as well.  Cenikor was supposed to be the Straight for adults, although it was apparently way more hardcore, and I dont know if the two were actually affiliated in any way.  There is a huge facility here in Houston, and if I am not mistaken it originated here.  We actually had a guy on staff for a while that had completed the Cenikor program, his main function I think was to threaten us about Cenikor and how awful it was at each and every opportunity.  Their minimum program length was 2 years, and that was in-patient.  The guy who we knew seemed like he was spritually burned out.  I can imagine. My cousin went into Cenikor way after I got out of Straight, and I think he consented to it, but once he was in they kept him from leaving, physically and otherwise.

Its interesting how other and older programs (KIDS, etc.) were always used to make us feel greatful that we were lucky to have it so good.  I couldnt pinpoint what we ever did to have to be reminded of how un-appreciative we were...but it happened often.  There was a boy in our program who had actually been in the El Paso KIDS program for three or so years before coming to Dallas, the he was there for close to another two years.  he had been in treatment for most of his adolescent life.

I just looked it up on the web....awful they even put in thier website that they have "confrontational Thearapy".  They even have a program where they take women and thier kids with them they take kids from 0-10  I guess they figure after 10 they must be drggies so they send them somewhere else.

I remember getting threatened with Cenikor.  My mom actually had called the place before I went into Straight, as I was from Huntsville.  They wouldn't take me because I didn't have a criminal background.

I always thought that Cenikor didn't really exist, that it was just another part of Straight mythology.  I remember hearing about it all the time in the Dallas Straight, that they shave all your body hair and make you wear diapers and the like. Don't know if any of that is true but I sure know I'd hate to be there.
Kelly, Brad, its good to see you guys found this place,
John

I remember this short kid that came in right before I left, hispanic looking short guy.  Was he from El Paso?

Also I remember a girl from Midland, I think her name was Tina.  She talked about doing bella donna, she did a lot of frion too.  That seemed to be the drug of choice for a lot of midland kids coming in for awhile.

I knew a kid who did some of that stuff (belladonna.) He had found it growing on a sidewalk here in Balto. He was never the same (in a bad way) after that - guess it's not for everybody.  :silly:

"Cenikor" sounds like the villian out of a sci-fi horror flick.

Belladonna is not for anybody as a recreational drug. It's used in octal medicine (eyes) to dilate pupils and for other reasons. And it's used in very, very small doses as a stomach relaxant. And there are probably other medicinal uses in doses far too low to cause trippin'. But there is not proper dose to attain a pleasant head trip. The trip is always evil and often fatal. It's a great drug for murder cause ppl assume either accidental ingestion or just one more idiot lookin' for a buzz in all the wrong places.  :skull:

I had a relative in from Germany in town recently and she had some stomach meds in her purse that she needed after eating Mexican food.  She offered me one as if it was an antacid she was casually passing around after our meal.  I looked at the ingredients and the sole active ingredient was belladonna.  Trippy.  I declined because my stomach was fine, not because I wasn't curious about the hallucinogenic properties of the drug.  It would have been interesting to pop 3-4, maybe not so interesting after reading this thread regarding the ill effects of the drug.
