It IS a more-or-less arbitrary ranking based on post counts. I haven't paid much attention. I have handed out a couple of special ones that override the post counts. I'm dedicated inactivist, I think Bill is GOD (Good Old Dad) or something and Wes has one just cause I think he's that cool and he rarely posts here anyway, so it's sort of an honor when he does.
Anyway, it's like this:
Welcome Stranger, 1-5 posts
Familiar Face, 6-20
A regular around here, 21-50
Frequent poster, 51-200
Mid Life Crisis Poster, 1001-10000
What is this 'outside' of wich you speak?, 2001-10000
Note the gaps and overlaps. Like I say, never played with it very much. And I think Bellis must have added that last one when I wasn't looking.
