e who joyfully marches in rank and file has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would suffice.

When Plunder becomes a way of life for a group of men living together in a society, they create for themselves in the course of time, a legal system that authorizes it and a moral code that glorifies it.

Might I suggest adding a little clove or, if you can get it, fresh cut feverfew to protect against the seasonal flu?

Any Irishman who doubts the reality of selective enforcement ought to take just a moment to comtemplate the etymology of the term "paddy waggon".

A shame you can't sue if you get arrested and happen to be Irish. Most likely because the cop would be Irish as well.

Yeah, well, I have a deep rooted aversion to tattling. Countless times in my life I've passed up a perfectly good chance to evoke some authority or another to get retribution for me on someone who had fucked with me. And I have no regrets about that.

80 years ago, when my dad was born, it was a terrible shame to be Irish. Most of the Irish were either recent immigrants with weird, superstitious ways and no means beyond their native ire or they were the children of endentured servants and sharecroppers. My maiden name, btw, is McNulty. That's no secret.

Now, things are different. We're not the niggers any more. We're all respectable and American and white and all that bullshit. We haven't changed, though. Public opinion has changed.

Forget about getting your piece of the pie. Make your own damned pie!

"...In general, it's just an overall sign in America that there doesn't seem to be as much respect for authority figures, and that's a bad trend. It just strikes me that people can say whatever they want to and get away with it, and that's not good."
