Yeah, well, I have a deep rooted aversion to tattling. Countless times in my life I've passed up a perfectly good chance to evoke some authority or another to get retribution for me on someone who had fucked with me. And I have no regrets about that.
80 years ago, when my dad was born, it was a terrible shame to be Irish. Most of the Irish were either recent immigrants with weird, superstitious ways and no means beyond their native ire or they were the children of endentured servants and sharecroppers. My maiden name, btw, is McNulty. That's no secret.
Now, things are different. We're not the niggers any more. We're all respectable and American and white and all that bullshit. We haven't changed, though. Public opinion has changed.
Forget about getting your piece of the pie. Make your
own damned pie!"...In general, it's just an overall sign in America that there doesn't seem to be as much respect for authority figures, and that's a bad trend. It just strikes me that people can say whatever they want to and get away with it, and that's not good."
