Over 18 programs

How do you get someone out of a program or keep them from having to go in one once they turn 18?

I noticed on the web page for the program that has a friend that they've now got a link referring for over 18 programs, as well.

Her parents lied to her to get her in this program, have been lying since to her friends about when she'll get more freedom, and I wouldn't put it past them to do something like trying to twist her arm to keep her in a program even past 18.  They have plenty of money, so cost is unlikely to deter them.

What have you tried so far? You might get a writ of habeus corpus to get her before a judge so she can speak for herself. Depends on the situation, though. If the parents won't listen, maybe some other family or teachers or other adults in the girl's life will help. If all else fails, you might put together a protest flyer about the place she's in and protest whatever local authorities are refusing to act. But never lead with a protest. It will only spoil your credibility. First try every conventional path available to you.
