Heading to Albuquerque N.M. the week between Christmas and New Years to ski.

I used to live near Breckenridge/Keystone so I know Leadville. I miss skiing. X and downhill... Telluride is beautiful.... more diversity of flora because its slightly lower elevation. My cuz lives in Co Springs. I hear it's a great  place to raise a family, very heatlth oriented, but conservative (which you may or may not like.)  How about Boulder?  I live there for a few years. Nice amenities.

Red Rocks is awesome.

I haven't lived in Colorado since '97... visited my folks there until 2001. Some places expensive, some not.  It wasn't as expensive as Boston or CA.  But even if rent is a little higher, you can have a lot of fun for not so much. Hiking, biking, X country skiing.... old bars...  Skiing is expensive, but worth the season's pass. The season's pass makes it more affordable if you ski a lot. I miss night skiing in the Rockies! :)
