"To this day I have never heard from positive review of a kid's experience at WWASP told by an adult former student/client/inmate on any board. It is always some kid who just got out of the program and is possibly under threat of being sent back or more often a parent who insists that their kid is now a balanced successful person thanks to WWASP.
I will believe it when I see it. All I have seen so far are the accounts of kids who were beaten, tortured, humiliated, starved, and even raped while under WWASP's care. "
Facekhan: If you're talking about them posting on boards like this, very few will - they've moved on. Take a look at the newspaper articles in the past several months. They report the negative and VERY LITTLE on the positive. Any parent with a troubled teen knows the tactics they will use to make themselves look good or if they were admitted, will say anything to have their parents believe it and come and rescue them.
Out of the THOUSANDS of kids that have been helped, why are we only hearing from those few that claim abuse? Where do you find the success stories? There are a few news articles, but most come from their internal magazine, BBS and their own rebuttal site and their support groups around the country.
There are so many more success stories. I'm not discounting the "real" issues I read here, but most are not real from my own interpretation, and some have nothing whatsoever to do with wwasps. All programs like this will have the same allegations, not one of them is immune. I especially liked the "ALLEGATIONS OF ABUSE thread someone posted regarding Arnold S and wwasps. Big targets get the most negative media.
It's been posted here before, but to read positives go to:
http://www.wwaspsrebuttal.com or their internal magazine:
http://www.wwasp.com/source03/Oct-03L.pdfYou are right, Facekhan - you won't read it on internet boards or news articles. It's just not exciting or entertaining.
