What worries me about this kid, is that he has recanted his confession and tells a believable story as to what really happened; which didn't include him killing anyone.

My fear is that having been threw wwasp and the seminars, and so having gotten into the habit of confession, he served them (the Texas Courts) up a dandy confession upon request; almost automatically. There may not be a word of truth to it - this confession - and now he is sitting on death row b/c of it.
As extremely weird as it seems - people frequently make false confessions. A person who had been threw a program like wwasp and the seminars, would be a prime candidate for both false memories and confession.
I am very afraid this kid my be innocent of the crime he is to forfeit his Life for!



MAYBE the program experience, for this kid, had the effect of making him prone to giving a false confession.
This is possible, maybe probable.
And he is on Death row!

I hope his attorney will research this and get the kid a new trial.

Maybe a few of you post program students would like to write the paper that reported on his recantation, and explain how the program might make him prone to giving a false confession; Maybe it'll help him get a new trial.

Michael Perry didn't "go through" wwasps" and he may have never attended a seminar.  He wasn't there very long - they don't keep violent kids there. Duh!!

Takes money to get a new trial and/or appeal.  I suggest the family hire a prominent attorney next time around and that someone set up a defense fund for this young man (ISAC??) to help offset the expenses.

Don't forget, we're talking TEXAS JUSTICE here, meaning it didn't take the jurors very long to hand Perry a death sentence instead of life in prison.  However, I do not believe the other kid involved in this heinous crime has been to trial, yet.  What he has to say (to save his own neck) will probably not bode well for Perry.

Guilty or not guilty nothing is to be lost by showing a bit of compassion for a person facing the death penalty. Writing a few letters wouldn't hurt anyone at all.

Crap.. I guess I better get writing. I'll send him a list of my favorite disgusting jokes.

The evidence...especially forensic evidence plus the date of death with Michael having alibis for that day...........

Why hasn't any of this been taken into consideration?
Surely US law states that this would have to be looked into? After all this is a 6 year old case, there's been plenty of time

If this guy goes free, is a murderer on the loose? You know you'd all be the 1st to shout if he was freed and offended again

Michael admits to being a heavy drug user, but I have picked up on the point about him being a program kid, it concerns me that someone who has been programed to automatically do as an adult says he must do, would in all probability write down anything he was 'suppposed to'.

This lad's life was fucked from the day of his conception, it's an incredibly sad situation from beginning to end

I know when you learn that he was in jail when the ME says Mrs. Stoller was killed you think my gosh - this kid can not be guilty. But there is a very great deal more to the story.

When he was arrested for that little jail stint, he was driving Mrs. Stoller's car - and had the dead boy's ID on him.

This means the ME was wrong. Mrs. Stoller was dead when Perry was pulled over and taken to jail.

I also know when he claims he had a confession beat out of him; and you see the photos of him all banged up and bloodied, you can easily believe he was in fact beat up.

What you might not know, is that just prior to his arrest, he and Jason drove the truck they were in through a plate glass store front; which might account for his battered appearance.

In his confession, he gave a perfect description of Mrs. Stolers wounds; Not something he could do, if he were in fact not present at her murder, as he now tries to claim.

IMO, Michael Perry is a young psychopath. He should never be allowed free access to society. But because I have gotten to know him, I do harbor some concern for his welfare, I hope Texas can be convinced to give him the same sentence his co-defendant got - Life.

And - yes, his story is sad. But you should consider the roll he has played in making it that way.

Maybe he did, maybe he didn't, but is murdering a young man acceptable to you?

Not only will it not bring the victim back, but if he is innocent, he will become another statistic - once its done there's no bringing him back to be pardoned

With a life like he's led, I'd be a Psycopath too

A tc channel has shown pictures of Michael at the time of his arrest..
At the hospital after a trip in the ambulace with the police he was bloody and clearly beaten... so...
As for the things that didn't come up at his trial.. the lawyer he had didn't do his job, that's for sure..
Michael is no psycho.. is is a sweet boy with a terrible past..  but he doesn't deserve to be locked up for the rest of his life just cause he has problems..
