The Program did enough harm to me and my family. But I'm a live-and-let live kind of gal. I chose to part ways with the sadistic lunatics, even though most of my family chose differently. No sour grapes here, no regrets.

I am a bit sour

But there's something else. These people continue to abuse children daily and at the leave and pleasure of our law enforcement, education, medical and regulatory institutions. These are the institutions my children and grandchildren will depend on. This is not about the past and there's nothing wrong with me that I'm trying to fix.

AMEM SISTER I HEAR YA!!!

Sooner or later, someone will be able to put together a legal action and/or the culmination of publicity will finally be too much for even the powerful, wealthy (on money that used to be ours) and politically connected TOUGHLOVE moonies to cover up. Why not this time? Where's the harm in investigating all options?

The hypothalamus is one of the most important parts of the brain, involved in many kinds of motivation, among other functions.  The hypothalamus controls the "Four F's": 1. fighting;  2. fleeing;  3.feeding; and  4. mating.

Do you remember when after about 2 weeks in straight, they would call us into a room with a psychiatrist who would ask us about 3 questions and then proclaim, yes we were in fact addicts and would be staying on? I think that might have been the doctor's note.

Yeah, the shrink would lie or mislead in his report, too.  I know this 'cause they read his bullshit-filled statement at my court-order hearing.

I don't remember that happeneing at St. Pete or Sarasota in `80. Must have started later. I'm guessing it was a reaction to some attempt at reform. And it's just like a lot of other meaningless motions they go through when under scrutiny. That's why I have so little faith in reform efforts. People constantly ask "Well, what do you do instead? Got a better idea?" Yeah! Think for yourself! That's the alternative!

There are two kinds of people; those who's lives have been somehow touched by harsh tragedy and those you don't know very well.

I never saw a psychiatrist any time during my 1 year and 10 month program.  Occasionally we'd get one on the chain of command, but they never stayed/lasted very long.  I saw the medical doctor a few times regarding physical ailments. But that's it.  My primary "treatment" was controlled by other kids.

I'm sure it was in response to some complaint or something. Of course it was totally meaningless. They spent no more than 5 minutes with us. And I remember after my turn, then on looking at the newer people all coming back out of that room after they got their chance...their faces were always crushed. Those doctors didn't give a shit.
