Genesis of Abuse at Elan

As far back as June 5, 1975, I was welcomed into the tragic state of abuse at Elan. Twenty hours after I was dropped off and watched my parents leave, I witnessed a young man, get yanked out of his chair in the dining hall by two very large residents and taken into a room, by all accounts this seemed to not effect anyone in the hall except me. From the room he was taken into you could here him screaming and by the commotion I could ascertain he was being beat up. Other wise known as the "RING".  This was my beginning of a world of abuse at Elan. Rings, spanking, yelling, intimidation physical and emotional, pushing and shoving by staff, isolation for weeks, etc. Enough said. Thank you
