Wellspring blames Bankruptcy on Counselor/ Riot
« Reply #45 on: July 26, 2004, 08:57:00 AM »
I have heard that bob and Sharon moved off the farm and into their sons house near Danville. You can look up where they went to bankruptcy court over a small part of the land. This was several months ago and I have not heard any resent information other than the office he maintains in Raleigh. I know in the past he has managed to pay people off, threaten, and sue anyone that tells the truth about his wicked ways. Then when things quiet down he reemerges with a bigger ego believing that he will never be held accountable, and continuing this vicious cycle of predatory behavior. I pray that this time is final and he will be unable to reopen; but who knows. Does anyone know any resent information about investigations into Bob, Cindy, or anyone, or the current status of the farm? Is it for sale? Thanks to all

I do remember at graduation 2002, at Wellspring Academy, US Senator of Virginia, George Allen and Virginia Attorney General, Jerry Kilgore both spoke about "Bob's program could be used as a great model for the commonwealth of Virginia".  What are these two politicians saying now?  Bob does seem to surround hinself with influencial people, a cause for concern? Someone from Roanoke, va.  said they had been told the school was reopening.

What do you suggest we do?  My son was there in 2001, he is doing great now but there is a sadness whenever the phrase "Wellspring Academy" is mentioned.

One of the greatest gifts my father ever gave me was a simple apology. Why not ask him why mention of the Program makes him so sad and find out if you have anything to apologize for. Or if maybe he's needlessly frightened that you'd send him back if he told you. I mean, you wouldn't send him back, would you? In most of these programs, they really hammer it into your head that, if you try to leave or "manipulate" (i.e. tell your parents anything less than glowing about what went on there) then you'll wind up right back at the beginning.

I internalized this so thoroughly that, 6 years later, when my daughter was 4 and I was working and paying my bills, I almost sucker punched my employer one day when he startled me by calling me by my legal name. No one but the IRS and the Program ever called my by that name. So, for an instant, I thought it was Program people coming to take me away and I was halfway through what would have been a really effective round house before coming to my senses. Turned out, the man was only there to award me a gift certificate as employee of the month for cleaning the shop so thoroughly that some new investors were very impressed.

A lot of Program vets relate similar bouts of fear. If your son is living w/ that, anything you can do to allay it would probably not hurt.

Scoundrels are predictable, but you're a man of honor and that frightens me.

As I understand it, the former Wellspring Academy property was auctioned off into 3 parcels.  I don't believe Bob bought any of them.  Kind of hard to do when you're bankrupt but then again, you know Bob.

I'm very interested in hearing any details on Bob starting a new facility.  If anyone knows anything about it please post.  This guy needs to never have that kind of opportunity again.  Perhaps he's trying to get a job at Enron.

sad but true;
heard yesterday that someone saw bob and he was bragging how he got some rich parent to buy the farm and give it back to him. he says he is now doing "retreats" on the property.
it is hard to know if it is true, but at least that is what he is telling people.

Wouldn't surprise me a bit if Bob was doing that and it wouldn't surprise me either if he was bragging about it.  I hope the investigators have their eye on him.

The Wellspring Academy property was sold at public auction May  2004 in 5 parcels.  2 parcels were bought by lumber companies.  1 parcel was bought by a local "land baron" with no apparent association to Bob Gluahreff.  1 parcel was bought by a man named Charles Grantham and the last parcel was bought by 6 people together.  They are 3 married couples named Charles and Sharon Ballard, Robert Jr and Wanda Potts, and Steven and Lori James.  The 5 parcels sold for $797,000 total.

June 28, 2004 Charles Grantham "sold" half of the land he bought in May to Charles Ballard and Robert Potts Jr for the recorded price of $10.

August 6, 2004 he "sold" the other half of the land he bought in May to Charles Ballard and James Mercer for the recorded price of $10.

As of today, nearly 200 acres of land including the house and buildings and 17 acres across the road are owned by:
Charles and Sharon Ballard
Robert Jr. and Wanda Potts
Steven and Lori James
James Mercer.

Cindy Thomas's house is vacant and for sale for $225,00.

This information is recorded at the Halifax County Courthouse.

For those following this crazy story:
Charles Ballard and Sharon Ballard (deceased) are the parents of Sharon Gluhareff. (Bob?s wife)
Charles is at least 85 years old and has been in declining mental and physical health for 10 years or more. He has cerebral palsy.
So somehow Bob is back in control of the farm. (Told you this is crazy)
Where did Mr Ballard get money to by his part? (Not a wealthy man) Bobs hidden money?
Why was the recorded price 10$ (To avoid taxes? was more paid in cash? Etc.)
Well that is what I know; does anyone know addresses phone numbers or even who the other ?investors? are? They should be enlightened as to the character of the man they are dealing with, and the consequences of aligning oneself with the sinking ship that is Bob Gluhareff.. BE AWARE!
The truth is that it will only be a matter of time before he screws over these people like he has screwed everyone else he has had dealings with.

INVESTIGATORS PLEASE PAY ATTENTION!  WHERE HAS THE MONEY GONE???????

I just found out and am sad to report that grandpa, Charles Ballard, died in May of this year. This is very sad and my heart goes out to Sharon Gluhareff.

BUT THIS LEAVES THE QUESTION OF HOW CAN SHARON AND CHARLES BALLARD BUY PROPERTY? DOES ANYONE KNOW WHATS UP?

I have been following this for some time. Many people have good questions and valid concerns. Others seem hateful and uninformed. The answers you are looking for are out there... It would take one person to make a phone call to any private investigator and your questions will be answered. The "dirt" is there. If any of you are serious about this man, serious about finding your justice, just look. He did not hide it that well.
