Hey, listen, sorry if it offends, but happen to like the little emoticon with the gun! I just ly liike guns and shooting sports and machines in general.. I don't care for the killing part, although i have and i will.( necessity being the criteria) that's why I'm mostly a birder and a hiker these days.. gives the thrill of the hunt without the sorrow of killing (no matter how good the roast is) anyway, if it bugs you that much, get a therapist who is also a gun enthusiast, get a carry permit, and consider the logic of violence. Sometimes, sad to say, violence is logical, reasonable and right. I believe that we have not only the right to defend ourselves and our neighbors, but often the moral obligation to do so.
At the height of Germany's extermination program, there were only 1500 men asssigned to the detail. Jews were, and are, peaceful people, and they had been sytematically dis-armed by Nazi law. Question? Had every Jew, every Catholic answered the door with a gun.. then how many? ( of the 1500 men, very many went home and quietly comitted suicide. As did Kampf guards,so this is not a condemnation of germans as a race. (suicide, according to Ambrose Bierce, is the sincerest form of apology)
Furthermore, As long as I'm on a rant, Most of the street cops (that means patrol and vice, mostly)I know will affirm that an armed society is a civil one. Ponder that. (If everyone who surrounds you is capable of violence on their own behalf , does it not pay you to be reasonable and polite? )
In days gone by, Violence against others was logical and often reasonable..Practical, in a word. These days, it's not. These days it mosly costly, ugly, ineffective. ..And the Mess! who needs it? For you, I probably recommend a Kel-tec .32, a light effective, close-quarter weapon, fits easily in purse or pocket.
And, for the sake of your senbilities, for now, I'll omit my "little buddy" J.O.M.
