She's Free
« on: September 03, 2003, 10:48:00 PM »
My 15yo grandaughter returned home recently.  Although she attained only a Level II over nearly 10 months and had not been afforded a phone call home nor any other uncensored contact(she wasn't working the program...Yaahhh!), her parents were finally invited to a PC1 seminar at Casa by the Sea.  During the weekend, her parents found her to be the same wonderful child she has always been. They returned home, loaded up the minivan with the siblings, and went back down to Mexico to pick her up.

Her case managers had routinely suggested that she was still "not getting it", and payment for ensuing months would be necessary.  WWASPS was obviously going nowhere; she was not in need of their Magic Wand ($$$).  She is now enrolled in a charter high school of 150 kids and doing well.

She called us and talked for nearly 3 hours.  We look forward to seeing her and her sister over the Thanksgiving vacation.  We can have direct email access, uncensored snail mail, telephone calls whenever we want them (we will pay next time!).

This phone call was a time for "I love You's", and there were lots of those.  Later, there will be time to talk about what really went on. Many things were mentioned which need further talking.  Many things happened which need to see the light of day.

I can say, one thing happened just before she left that convinced us that WWASPS is worried, that they know who we are who oppose them, and they are worried about our influence.  We have more power than one would imagine.

Life goes on.  Life is good.

Free at last; free at last!!!

Congratulations spots on your grand daughter?s release!

I wish you & your family the best.  Please keep us updated on her progress.  Apparently, your persistence & patience paid off with your daughter.  Then again, after your daughter witnessed her condition after residing at Casa for 10 months or $25K later, what should one expect?

?Trust the program??   ?Leave her their??  Please!!!   It is only your hard earned money & your precious little children you are entrusting with these so called ?programs? or warehouses.

Congratulations again spots for holding onto your sanity throughout your grand daughter?s ordeal.  Please wish her the best from the ?Colburn? family!!!

Spots - question:

You requested info on the PC1 seminar yesterday, did you not?  Does that mean you just found out today the girl has been home?

I believe I read that your daughter had a phone call with her not too long ago, yet you just wrote she never did?

What else isn't accurate?  Did your daughter bring her home to avoid a custody suit?  It just seems strange she's already enrolled in school and you just found out that she's home - care to comment?

I can already see that you want to use her experience to twist things up.

P.S. Why are you waiting until November to see her?  I guess as long as she's home, that is all that matters? Anyway, I'm happy to hear she is doing well and my best for her present and future.

Uuuhhh..school starts in late August here, so...duhhh...she's in school.  As for me "just finding out"???   I've known, Bets.  YOU'RE the one who just found out.

Really?  So far, your entire post is erroneous.  Add this to the list.

Uuuhhh...double-duhhh.  School is full time here in California, and the first lengthy holiday is Thanksgiving.

I *think* this person is Joan (Joanne) Davis. Is there more than one? I know she is an uppity-up and staff folks "ooohhhh..." when she walks by. She has power and authority in WWASPS. How long is the PC1, and is it entirely on-site? I know the whole compound shifts into high "major clean" gear for a couple of days beforehand, so all the kids know it is coming. Are they not told their parents will be arriving at the facility forthwith?

Spots - apparently someone else is using your screen name - see Someone With Seminar Knowledge - I'm not calling you a liar - I just thought you personally wrote that thread, sorry.

So Spots - her parents found her to be the same wonderful girl she always was.  Does that mean the seminars and the program was beginning to work?  Great! I know some kids that don't graduate and do great, not many, but a few.  I truly hope she is one of them, no thanks to you.

I'll tell ya, if I had been slamming a program for 10 months, professing my undying love for my grand daughter and how much I missed her, I would have been on the first plane to be with her.  Didn't you say you wanted to visit her at Casa and couldn't - well, what are you waiting for?  Thanksgiving is a hell of long way off.

I think you aren't welcome.  I did hear you were trying to sue for custody, maybe true, maybe not, but I sure wouldn't want you around my kid anyway, the way you disrepect people with your hateful words.  She's home - and apparently unhurt, go figure!

Anon-Connie....

You have directed all forum readers to a forum with postings from December of last year.  I asked for help extricating our grandaughter, followed by a flood of informative posts.  Some offered help with contracts, some offered help with witnessed statements, some are from "survivors" with stories of abuse.

Anon, you have directed this forum to an intelligent anit-WWASPS forum, with the sly innnuendo that this is a PURE site.  What you have directed this forum to is a very nice example of the intelligent, reasoned response to a VERY BAD THING.  Is it PURE (which it is not)?????  Who gives a damn!!

Anon, are you crazy?????????????????  Keep it up.  We need "enemies" like you.

Thanks, Anon Connie! These sites and news items are popping up all over the place so fast I can't even keep track. I've just added this latest to http://fornits.com/anonanon/

I deeply apreciate your help, however accidental.

And, btw, to those of ya'll who have been sending occasional news items to me for archival, thanks. Take a look at http://fornits.com/anonanon/peaars.cgi and see if anything you're holding is missing from there. I'll be happy to include it. (index runs in the wee hours, so today's additions won't show till you've had your coffee tomorrow)

The U.S. Congress also has taken interest in the Utah-based WorldWide Association of Specialty Programs (WWASP), the behavior-modification umbrella organization to which Dundee belonged.

House Representative George Miller of California, the ranking Democrat on the House Education Committee, last month asked the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to review WWASP's tax-exempt status and investigate whether the organization has received any special tax treatment in the past.

One of Rep. Miller's congressional aides said this week that the congressman also is preparing to ask U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft to open a federal criminal investigation into alleged child mistreatment at WWASP programs -

:???: Connie?  Nope, it's Betsy, Spots.  There was just a piece of the puzzle that was missing in your quest that you didn't share on this board that I could find.  No, it's not really important.  She's home.  I read that board again and it's clearly not PURE's.  There are some positive posts for wwasps.  It was just a question.
