....and stupid people are generally obese, as stupidity causes obesity. stupid people arnt smart enough to stay away from mcdonalds and cocacola, or any other mass-produced 90% corn garbage....americans have forgotten what food is all about.
i do agree with the government when it comes to the obese. i do think that something must definitely be done about them. they have been treated as if there is nothing wrong with them for too long. if you're obese, you SHOULD have to pay for an extra plane ticket, you SHOULD have to pay more for insurance (and if you're on government insurance, tax penalties), and your children SHOULD receive lifestyle and diet counseling so they dont end up like you. Your favorite foods - things with high-fructose corn syrup - should be taxed and corn subsidies should be removed. meat should be taxed to make vegetables more appealing. quit acting like there is nothing wrong with being obese. beyond being unhealthy, it's unethical on so many levels and makes you an extremely unpleasant person to be around. there are starving children all over the world, the planet is dying due to the chemicals put in to grow such large quantities of bad food, and you are happily consuming this food, robbing starving children (by inflating prices) and supporting the continuance of highly environmentally-unfriendly agricultural practices by voting with your dollar. Plus, if we continue, as americans, to shovel down all of this crap food, we'll end up like the humans in WALL-E. how "secure" do you think our country will be when only 1% of us can run a mile in under half an hour? we are sure headed there....
BUT, you should only be punished in such a way as to counteract and balance your negative effect on society, not simply to punish you just to punish. and if you come from a long line of obese individuals, you should be castrated or have your tubes tied to prevent you from reproducing.

it's not a matter of racism or prejudice, or hate. It's a matter of the well-being of future generations and of our planet. If you're black, jewish, hispanic, gay, etc...you cant do anything about it, and there is nothing wrong with it. your existence does not negatively impact society as a whole. being obese is something that is easily changed; something that should be changed, because an obese person's existence DOES negatively impact society.
Drug users are a different story, it's like comparing apples and oranges. Drug users dont harm society, drug prohibition does.
so quit acting like it's ok to be a fatass, get up off your ass, go for a run, and stop eating garbage. stopping eating garbage does not mean opt out of the burger and get a salad instead at mcdonald's. it will keep you just as unhealthy because their produce is garbage too, filled with pesticides and preservatives, grown in high doses of fertilizer, and frozen for unknown number of years. what you should be doing, if you care about people other than yourself; if you are willing to stop being selfish, gluttonous and lazy, is find a local farmer and buy produce from him or sign up for a local CSA (community supported agriculture) organization. CSA's collect produce from local farmers and for a subscription fee, they deliver a big box of fresh local seasonal produce to your door every month. believe me, just eating better food will help you loose weight, even if you're eating more calories. and getting up to actually cook the food from scratch will burn quite a few more calories than jumping in your car to visit the local drive-thru.
