I remember the day and hour i became a conservative.
I was smokin rope and talking with a long-haired friend of Jesus named Andy, never forget that guy.( My erstwhle buddy's name was Andy, not Jesus, all the other Jesus' I knew was Hispanics, not a one mexican , they was named andre' or heriberto or some such) the question was why is this stuff illegal? there's nothing in the bible that prohibits  it, or the activity of getting high, there's nothing in the constitution that prohibits it, nothing in our accepted way of life.
Nothing in any civiliziation, at all, ever, except islam,( not a civilisiation at all, just a totalitarian system)
So, why? and why does the government believe that it has the rightful power to tell people what they may or may not ingest, and to what effect?
It was that day, and that hour that i became a conservative, and that i quit smokin rope.. got disillusioned with stupid , i guess, realized that 'rights' derive only from god, that governments may only ever grant licence or priveledge.
I suppose that this will be awfully unpalatable to quite a few of you. Reckon that a good thing.

I recon most on this forum agree with the principle of self ownership but might disagree that such natural rights are derived from god.  Note that your definition of conservative might not fit with the commonly accepted one.  Many who claim to be conservatives nowadays believe quite openly that the government can tell a person what they can do with their body. Both Liberal and Conservatives have been twisted from their original meanings.  Conservatives nowadays seem to believe it's just A OK to tell a person what they can do with their own body (but it's hardly limited to one party).  Me?  This is what I believe in:

You can take drugs if you pay the exortionists. Psychologists, psychiatrists, pharmacists, tax man, pharmaceuticals.

Or you can take illegal drugs, which in the long run ends up being cheaper than say taking anti depressants. I've been dating a nice girl named Tina for a few years and never felt better.

Careful----Tina can be a real bitch.  Personally, she was never big on my list of friends.  I hang with Mary every day, and even though it can get boring, she can't push my psycho buttons like Tina could.


I haven't seen my friend Harry in a while.  He could usually help me with depression, temporarily, until he started making me depressed.  Plus, it can make you feel sick to be without someone you've been with every day for years.......
