Opinion?

Here's my opinion:

I really want to just be done with this whole pile of shit called pfc, straight, whatever else you name it. You say "Well.... that's your opinion BLAH BLAH BLAH... " Yeah, ok, WOW!!! Now, because YOU say I am entitled, I guess I really am. At least SOMEONE out there (you) agrees with me,  :roflmao: No wonder people commit suicide. DAMN!

Bill,
Although I agree with you on most points, your SUICIDE comment was uncalled for and insensitve to siblings and parents of the deceased from SUICIDE.
This is neither a funny thing or something to be used as an ascendancy in an argument with another survivor. Please retract the suicide statement.
Thank you!

Hey DP, nobody's family called me to complain. If they do/did, I would apologize for what? Stating facts? I would be glad to explain to them what I mean by what I wrote. If you can't figure it out, well, don't attack me, just ask. I wasn't talking about program suicide victims. I never mentioned them. You are putting words where there are none. That laughing emoticon was after I wrote the entitled comment... ahem... Now on that note, if anyone else was offended, by all means, tell me and I may reconsider my statement. Otherwise, I'd appreciate it if you would please think about what I said for a minute and don't be so reactionary next time.

It bothered me, and that is why I said something to you. I didn't attack you at all. I actually used my manners, said please etc....
One of my friends got out and committed suicide..... so draw your own conclusion.

Yeah, Terri started in Michigan BTW... please don't distort the facts dude.  :beat:

ah, whatever, it's a state thing, indiana being one of the most INEPT in the nation at being able to protect kids. Remember, CARF is why PFC has a license in Indy, not DMHA. CARF gets lots of $$$ from ONDCP related programs/grants... connect the dots.

WHERE IS MARK WEST??????????????????

RG

I read that Helen Gowanny started Pathway in Michigan and Nissley started Pathway in Indianapolis. That's what it says in this article:

http://www.nwitimes.com/articles/2007/0 ... 029674.txt

"SECOND GENERATION
Pathway Family Center, Detroit - founded 1993 by HELEN GOWANNY, 15 miles from the old Straight facility near Detroit
Phoenix Adolescent Institute, Marietta, Ga.
- founded in 1993 by KATHLEEN CONE, five miles from the Straight facility in Marietta.
Pathway Family Center, Indianapolis - founded 1993 by former Straight parent Terri Nissley
Kids Helping Kids, A Pathway Family Center, Cincinnati, - Penny Walker"

It also states that Nissley started in Michigan in this same article so am I "distorting facts" or is this just an ambiguous article? Maybe... get off my back RG? There are more important hairs to split.

I jusy found out about Mark West and his whereabouts very recently. He does not wish to share those details and I will honor his wishes.

Hey Tony,
I think that what I have in bold up there is possibly the name of th institute...the best I can tell it looks like Helen Gowanny did a stint in Marietta ,GA
and it looks like the name was just Detroit Phoenix Adolescent Institute......Terry Nissley yes wasa straight PARENT in INDY, but got her start on Staff in Michigan....that is how I understood it to have gone down.

sincerely,
Clara Fication

Ok everyone, I apologize for getting PISSED OFF... What was I thinking?...  :roflmao: What can folks expect coming to Fornits?  :roflmao:  :roflmao:  :roflmao:  I assumed that folks who have been fighting PFC for YEARS know that PFC started in MICHIGAN... Why then, did wdtony come on here spouting BS off about some article he snagged off of some site somewhere? Did he just fall off a turnip truck? I mean, seriously, after nearly a couple years, you'd think that someone with a site like his would know where PFC started. Oh well. I admit, I have this overwhelming sense of duty to the cause and I think I got too involved at the wrong time.

Oh, and while I'm at it, I hate it when folks do the shhhh shh don't tell anyone I told you this routine.  ::)  So much for teamwork.

Just let me know when Indy closes, OK? I be leavin now...  :smashcomp:  :smashcomp:  :smashcomp:

Nissley meets Reality
« Reply #25 on: July 09, 2009, 04:42:06 PM »
Terri Nissley is quoted and she is not happy in this post tribune article, My words are in red:

Clinicians will see the last clients next Thursday, according to Pathway CEO and President Terri Nisseley, who described her mission as, "We save kids."

Nisseley said this week the county still has a "huge" need for this kind of treatment, but the demand necessary to support the center financially never materialized.

"You know the saying, 'Build it and they will come?' I now know that idea will not work." It will if you are not an abusive fraudulent organization, Terri.

She said the center had been started with high hopes of those who had asked Pathway to come here. The center sought $1 million in local funding in support. They started with $200,000 from the Porter County Council and the amount from the Drug Coalition, but fundraising and referrals never covered the costs.

In addition to the recently-recession, she blamed ongoing Hoosier insularity. This makes no sense because Pathway has been in Indiana since 1993, why would "Hoosiers" (Indiana natives) be insular toward Pathway?

"I think there was political pressure for people in positions of referring kids for help not to change their referral patterns," she said. Ha! Political pressure brought on by people like us getting the word out to the right people apparently. These people in positions of referring kids did a little digging and saw Pathway for what it is, a complete fraud.

She said those positions included "anybody working in the justice system, school systems, local treatment programs." In other words, nobody would refer to PFC, that's classic.

And through the entire article, they spelled her name wrong.

And it appears that the NWI-times article about the Porter closure has gone missing. Did they take it down?

Pathway Facebook and poster
« Reply #26 on: July 09, 2009, 06:21:44 PM »
I was looking at pathway's facebook page and noticed they have a new poster as a way to drum up recruits for the program.

The weird thing is that there is no wording on the poster signifying that Pathway Family Center is a drug rehab or mentions anything about drugs. That's awfully strange for a self-proclaimed Drug rehabilitation center for troubled teens.

Here is the poster:

http://www.facebook.com/pages/Pathway-F ... 778&ref=mf

It states:

Do you feel like you are losing your teen?

You are not alone...  We can help...

Pathway Family Center
"Helping Families become families again"

24 hour assistance
Call for a professional and confidential consultation

(800)261-4605

www.pathwayfamilycenter.org

As usual, the program is very secretive and ambiguous in its advertising. Where is the banter about addiction, the mention of drug rehabilitation?

Just like Straight, The SEED, KHK etc., Pathway is basically working on the desperate parent who doesn't know what is going on with their kid. Once the consultation is set up, drugs will immediately be blamed as well as the speech about how you won't see the actual drugs but they are there. The "your kid will die soon" lecture will be introduced and a frantic parent will hurry to sign the papers without reading them. And the cycle continues....or will it?

To me, this shows that putting up posters is Pathway's new advertising campaign. It's cheap and utilizes Pathway's many foot-soldiers to distribute this filth locally.

A sign of desperation from Pathway? Time will tell.
