Since this is about helping the kids. I’m all for leaving the kids out of the midst this. They are not meant to be used by anyone. Not even to be used as shrapnel by you.

Well, is it wrong to post peoples' photos without their permission? I'd say, no. Calo would say, yes.

Is it wrong to post them beside the assertion that s/he pictured is mentally deficient, after  kidnapping him/her, for an advertisement? I'd say, yes. Calo would say, no


 I think the situations are a little different, and I have no problem with these kids' getting their photos posted. Maybe it will spark some uncomfortable but necessary brain- glints in the program parents, and Huey family- community.

I mean, if Huey is to argue that under no circumstance is posting peoples' (or kids') photos OK without their permission, well, they are going to need to redo their website, quick-smart.

Refusing to acknowledge the intrusiveness and potential for further harm done by using these children is dangerously close to the warped rationales used by those who run these programs.
An unfitting legacy perhaps of the warped rationales used by those perpetrators who inflicted harm to so many gathered here. I implore all passionately rallied here against such programs to not lose the truth of their cause to similar narrow minded self justifications.

Until someone kidnapps the kids pictured to set them on the “right path,” the issue of comparable "rationales" isn't really apropos.

Everyone has rationales for everything, and everything potentially causes harm to someone. Should we also not write “Ken Huey abuses people” because that carries potential intrusiveness or harm for his kids? Should people not sue Ken Huey because it will cut into these kids' college funds?

The similarity of rationales behind an act (rationales are always pretty much the same) doesn’t dictate the ethicality of an act.

We are in a war for the future of the kids in CALO. I believe not utilizing every tactic possible, in the name of ethical considerations, makes us negligent in our efforts to save them from the likes Ken Huey and CALO.

Therefore, anyone Ken is related to, friends with, or in business with is fair game.

Anything we can do to those people is absolutely insignificant compared to the hell the kids are going through.

Helping the kids at any cost?  I see...  Only difference is your version of "help" differs from theirs.  In both cases, you're taking the consent out of the kid's hands, not to mention hurting them for some "greater good".  The ends justify the means, you say?  That's program dogma.  Be careful that in going down this path you don't eventually become what you set out to fight.  I only know that if and when that happens, you won't see it coming.  It's why the "first step" is never taken in regards to moderation on this site.  Both ginger and myself know where it inevitably leads.  You seek out to make an "exception" to your personal code of ethics for some "greater good".  The next exception is a little bit bigger, and so on and so forth.  It doesn't ever go the other direction.  It saddens me greatly you don't see this.

Guess what, we are remembering the children. I just don't accept that there should be any limits in this sort of fight. You don't fight a war with one hand tied behind your back.

This, to me anyway, explains exactly why the industry has expanded over the years.

No one has been willing to go at them with absolutely everything they have at their disposal. The war of the words is over, this is the war of anything fucking goes.
