AARC lawyer Mark Tyndale represents the worst of the worst criminals such as Venn, a violent rapist
http://www.cbc.ca/canada/calgary/story/ ... lease.htmlVenn has a history of breaking into homes to commit sexual offences against adult women, said Calgary police on Friday. He was convicted twice before, in the 1980s, for breaking and entering, and sexual assault.
While incarcerated, Venn went through three rehabilitation programs, but Calgary police said they are still concerned about his risk to reoffend because he is a diagnosed psychopath.
Mark Tyndale, Venn's lawyer, said the Calgary police warning could jeopardize his client's rehabilitation.
'I think that they are now trying to make him fail on any conditions applied to him and they can put him back in jail.' —Mark Tyndale, defence lawyer
"If they were sincere in that, they would not hold this news conference vilifying him to every citizen in Calgary," Tyndale told CBC News.
And Calgary Police veteran/kiddie porn consumer Stephen Huggett
http://www.calgaryherald.com/news/Retir ... story.htmlStephen Huggett viewed and downloaded dozens of graphic and violent child pornography images while working for the Calgary Police Service.
The retired police officer pleaded guilty Monday to possessing child pornography and admitted he had been looking at the illicit material off and on for as many as four years.
The images were of children as young as one year old
Defence lawyer Mark Tyndale --who previously told reporters none of the charges were connected to Huggett's time as a police officer -- said Monday's admission was the officer's first acknowledgment he had committed the crimes while employed by the service.
"It's clear at the time which he possessed these images it occurred during the time he was also on the police force," said Tyndale, who declined to elaborate.
I can understand Tyndale being retained by AARC, but why is such a prominent defence lawyer representing small time 17 year olds in youth provincial court who already have sufficient legal representation paid for by legal aid?
Maybe Vause asked him to between periods while rubbing shoulders at the bronco games they enjoy together?
Tyndale states he was "advised" to represent the youth. Again, he refused to elaborate.
