I think that's a beautiful example of why a lot of us believe in God. I know people that don't, someone I care very much for doesn't, actually. I don't understand it myself, but it's not my life to choose.
I really believe that God loves us, and cares for us. I can't even begin to relate to the horrible things that were suffered in KIDS and programs like it, but I am sure that there was a purpose. Not everyone may be an outspoken activist, not everyone may write books or rally emotions or do some large, planned event to raise awareness - but you honestly never know what might happen if one parent of one child happened across something that you posted here, or on other message boards like it, and made the decision to not send their child away to a place like this. The world is saved one person at a time, not even in a religious sense of things, but as a whole, people are touched by individual things. From what I've been able to read, that's something that Newton and his group are well aware of, which probably explains the group-think that seemed to prevail.
God put everyone here for a reason, whether we as individuals believe that or not, and I think that he uses us and our surroundings to spread love and tolerance, and individuality, and all the goodness that comes along with life. All those people that the previous Anonymous poster talked about, those were people who cared enough about another person to reach out. Not because they would get their name on a paper, or mentioned on the news or in a website, but because they saw someone suffering and reached out. That's love, that's the purpose of kindness and giving. I'm sure that you're grateful each day to each of those individuals that helped you over the years.
I guess the point is that the people who are really posting here, really doing what they can to patiently, kindly, and generously share of themselves to help prevent this from happening in the future, they're doing the same thing for someone else that the strangers you met in New York did for you. That's God's love, and that's just one reason that I believe. Not a smack you in the face testimonial, not an attempt to force anyone to believe something they just don't. I guess it just seemed like an opportunity to remind those that do, that you're really embodying the spirit of love, helping others without asking for kudos for yourselves.
Have a wonderful day.
