The people at Straight Inc. were experts at extreme micro-managing. "No talking out in group." (Now I hate it if anyone tries to talk over me; I was literally NOT ALLOWED TO SPEAK for a long fucking time!! FUCK YOU!!!!!)

"Pay attention to the person talking." I hate it when people expect me to pay attention to them, or guilt trip me when i don't remember what they were talking about. Fuck that. NO ONE should have to put up with that, especially me. Permissions.. where are you going and when will you be back? WHAT'S IT TO YOU, ASSHOLE????????? Always a schedule & a game-plan....

"Confidentiality": better keep your mouth shut, druggie; better not talk about anything that goes on in 'the building' or else! Fuck it, nowadays I say whatever I feel like in front of whoever's listening. Not always good, but hey..... (wait for it) .... I'm a 'fallible human being,' right????  ::evil::

i don't have anything really good to say. i just wanted to say that i wish there were something else, i am thinking of something else. like a regular newsletter, mailed out. yah sure i know just what you mean about taking things personally. and if i can't find that other thread where someone posted about killing theirself just so someone might wonder who they were and what it was about, well i don't know you, but i think that you are trying to say something else. which if you don't, that's okay. i say, not to relate to a rap or meeting topic, but because the personal is the political, that in the midst of ridiculously vile "emoticons" and exploitative and cruel corruption there is yet some kind of conversation taking place here. some great informative and thought provoking posts on cults, example given of jehovah's witnesses extrapolatable to so much. i will tell you that i despair for complex reasons. why knock down straight when the walls come down what do we see but all the (expletive expletive) fatheads who think they have a right, a righteous right. and ourselves, and our friends, still misbehaving in the sense that even we (YOU), still, cannot say. i feel that we talk around the problem. we all talk around the problem. by example, we all talk around the problem. considering a broader perspective than the drug war, what. persecution. that is old in human society. to use persecution as a power tool, this has also been done. to manipulate, enslave, indoctrinate, torture, these things are not new either. so when we have been so to the very nerve controlled and lied to and spoke at and forced right to "may i pick up the fork?" and been awared of, there is a lot all around that is really going to get under our skin. sure there is. there is also the elevated, i guess. i think. like, sometimes people do this and that to make an effort to make their story known and heard, and i guess, i hope it makes the reader or listener more human inside in things like compassion and understanding. perhaps it signifies nothing, but sure to feel the right to be as one is, human, and get to say, at least that. even if it makes no impact whatsoever. even if intentionally or ignorantly or because of damage or just the fuckshit kind of fuckshit greed and not giving a fuck, okay, okay there is that.

i would like people to know who they are really working for. i would really like to slap them across the face with that information. i would like them to know how very not righteous their cause really is. i would really like to slap the face of every single one of them with the information of who their crusade really causes pleasure and gain. i am sorry if some people do not understand how much misbehavers can hurt each other, too. but fuck it, go on back to your stupid cause of ripping someone apart for some perceived gain. or report to sick bay to get some more nanoprobes removed. you know, all of us. any of us. but don't you dare EVER consider yourself having the right or the good cause to get near me in any way with ANY of your fucking nanoprobe removers, because you and your instruments are corrupted by the disease. yeah i'm talking to YOU, bitch!

there ya go, i think that is what you meant to say. yeah, those last two sentences are pretty killer, aren't they. right on, props to me.

Yes indeed, absolute props to you! [nworthy]

Your words are some of the most righteous & eloquent I've ever read on this forum.

Does anyone, especially survivor folks, take things way too personally on frequent occasions?
We have to deal with the unintentional program jargon jabs here and you know, the real life vs. program collisions over the years. Is it possible that program vets almost "have" to take things more personally than non program vets?

Sometimes people say shit that just cuts to the core, but when the same thing is said to an 'outsider', it bounces off or is dealt with much more easily, or so it seems. People don't have to have gone through the program to experience this enhanced sort of personally taking shit, but is this making any sense?

If someone has trouble coping with that, how can they fix it? Self esteem is important throughout the entire life cycles of most humans. Granted, some folks don't give a shit, never have never will, but for those of us that do, is there any hope? The program wanted us to think a certain way, like a damn robot, but in reality it doesn't work well at all. Does this wear off over time? How long? Any suggestions or thoughts on this subject?

So many tainted words and phrases, to name just a few:

You ought to "work on" or need to "look at" this or that..

"Make changes"

Anytime i hear phrases like this I get a twinge of remembrance.

Another one is when anyone refers to being in a "good (or bad) place" with one's self.
