psy, antigen, techies: Help with Opera Tor
« on: December 27, 2008, 09:31:12 PM »
I am using opera tor to help make sure nothing I say is used to hurt me. Will you answer some questions about it for me, please?

1)When you "delete private data" under the "Tools" option in  Opera Tor, how do you know when the info is done deleting? All these little clocks appear and one by one, they dissapear, except for 2 that keep going for quite a while. Do these signify anything?

2)What can I do with Opera Tor to make it more untracable? Is there a delete "scripts" or whatever you call them option, for example?

3)What can you do to make Opera Tor safer and untraceable?

4)Would you use Vidalia Tor instead?

I can't go to an internet cafe..so that's not an option

THANKS a lot

Use tor and you're covered.  Opera Tor and Vidala both use the same tor network.  I wouldn't worry too much about clearing your cache and so on and so forth unless you are worried about somebody with direct access to your computer finding out where you have been.

if i don't clear my "private data" can't that send info about me to the sites I visit?

Also, for someone who needs to be very careful for legal reasons, can you give me any pointers about being super untraceable with Opera Tor?

thanks

No.  That information is only stored on your local machine.

Tor was designed to be untraceable.  For all intents and purposes, it is.  Using Tor, you're already super untraceable.  If you're worried about lol enforcement, however, I would recommend you keep Opera Tor on an external drive (such as a keychain flash drive).  That means no "evidence" is stored on your computer.
