wow.

Those seminars somehow KEEP sounding like calculated attempts to manipulate, if not brainwash.

But oh, I should go with the general, nonspecific, cloudy testimonies from programmies about how they get epiphanies and life-changes, and somehow think thats not just a result of being manipulated and brainwashed

Understand what I am about to explain is after 3 full days of different process' and all the other weird things that go along with wwasp seminars. At the end of the seminar, once the group is done humiliating and verbally attacking each another, there is another strange 'process'. This process involves everyone breaking up into groups of 6 people or so, the lights are dimmed to almost darkness and the atmosphere becomes very surreal, it was very quiet. They play all sorts of cheesy music, for example mariah carey's butterfly, songs like that. One at a time, a person in your group of six was singled out, and brought to the center of your group circle.

They would lie down in the center of everyone on the floor, the lights were dimmed and they would close their eyes. This is where the specific song on your poster comes from, at least in our seminar. There are six different songs played for each person in the group. When the music plays, each person in the group whispers compliments and praise into the ear of the person lying on the ground. Since most of the seminar is spent degrading you with no mercy, this is a definite change of pace. People who were screaming terrible things in your face only one day ago, were now telling you how beautiful a person you are quietly in your ear, while you listen to 'your song' play in the background. Even our family rep came over and whispered compliments into our ear, and how much she loved us. The small people, namely some of the girls, would literally be lifted off the ground and walked around, as if they were floating on air, being told of love in their ear all the while. It was common for the group to pet the individual laying down, in a sense, comfort them as much as they possibly can. It was very child-like, something a parent would do.

To anyone who has read in more detail about the WWASP seminars, or has attended themselves, it will make perfect sense why some people treasure their signs forever. They associate the signs with love, in very real contrast to the hate and pain they also experienced during the seminar. "

isn't this like the battered wife thing? he beats her up and then is completely contrite and loving?    ?       ?         ?

We didn't call them "trainings" for nothing. We were being trained how to act and respond in our own little world, somethings you would never say to someone outside for they would never understand what you are talking about.

Were any of these facilitators licensed psychologists or therapists. Sounds pretty dangerous and damaging to me....

It was a little less sophisticated at Straight. Once in awhile, in the midst of all that hostility and hollering, we'd have a love rap. They tried guided imagery once that I recall during girls' rap. But everyone fell asleep.

Could we get someone to pony up the dough and go to a seminar with a wire?

Or hold some kind of a raffle where people all put up money to pay for a discovery seminar, and the 'winner' gets to wear it and go to one?

to know the worst, and to provide for it.

No, the only adult was Jeannie who is a former staff member of Cross Creek. Then the rest of the staff were girls who had already been through the training. The trainings were done on the weekend so their wasn't even a therapist at the school.

Hotels aren't exactly hard to get into and hide a camera or audio recorder. Wouldn't it be great to wire the conference hall prior to the seminar. James Bond the shit in, and hide it. Just an idea... it sure would be fun to get those freaks on tape.

... The one problem though is they tone down the parents seminars quite a bit. To see the full blown strangeness, getting a student seminar on tape would be the best. Hell, getting any truth out of those facilities would be a positive event. Everything that comes from them is complete BS.

One thing I've been pondering, what if a group of people got to together and disrupted the facility where the seminar was being held. For instance, plastered the hotel rooms of the normal guests with notices announcing a cult is sharing the hotel which supports child abuse. Might cause a bit of a stir. Anything to get attention on these freaks is a good thing. Truth speaks for itself, that's why they're so damn secretive.

And if I'd been your mom, I would have enrolled you in alternative school, taken you there myself, and sat right outside the door reading a book to make damned sure you stayed there.

And I would have put deadbolts on the doors and windows and while I wouldn't have kept you locked in all the time, I would have made damned sure your opportunities for sex and drugs were at least *limited*.

And I would have told you if you tried to attack me or your dad personally over being grounded like this, we *would* press charges and you *would* spend time in juvie before coming home to the same thing---and you'd have known I meant it, too.  Or I'd just have paddled your butt.  That would have been the *first* line of correction of an assault.

But sure, I'd have let you date.  I'd have made damned sure you didn't walk out my door without condoms and your regularly scheduled depo provera shot, but I'd have let you date.  And I'd occasionally have taken you to swim, or dinner, or let you go out shopping or to a movie with friends---as long as you were passing your random drug tests and at least *trying* in school.

And I wouldn't have a problem with you telling me lies, because I'd never ask you a question---I'd just ask you to show me whatever and check on everything you said.

While including a lot of ordinary good things in your life at home just for being my kid, making sure you knew I loved you even if I wasn't going to let you run amok and even though I'm sure you would have been hell on wheels, and gradually given you more freedom as you showed more responsibility.

And if you ran away, well, the real world makes people grow up fast.  When you grew up some, you'd be back.

And it would have worked.

Mom Fu is a wonderful thing.

You were no wilder than my sister or at least half a dozen of my friends, and Mom Fu eventually worked with them.

You post-program kids think you invented wild.

I knew kids who were wilder than anything I've heard of yet.  The only ones who died or went to jail for more than a brief wake-up call were the few who managed to pick a real dangerous curve to drive drunk on---and *very* few of those.

Mom Fu works.

There are just way too many women who never take to the role of Mom enough to learn it.

It doesn't work *quickly*---but over several years, it works.

My way wouldn't have *stopped* the sex and the drugs and the ditching school--it wouldn't have made you pay attention instead of staring out the window.  But it would have reduced all of it for long enough for you to finish growing up---which is all it would need to do.

If anyone has the schedule for upcoming seminars, please post it.

I dont wanna go to a seminar so much as I want to see proof to backup what people say, whichever way the truth is. I am expecting it to be what the dissenters say, though.

And well, I'd go, but I'm BROKE. I cant afford air faire and hotel accomidations, lol.

I can't get that site to go anywhere. No matter what I click on, it just redirects to the same page again. No cookie blocking, so that can't be it. I wonder if they have my IP on their shit list or something? That would be a little gratifying.
