Pathway on A&E this morning
« on: December 17, 2008, 12:34:03 PM »
I woke up at 3:30 and couldn't go back to sleep.  I happened to catch this and hadn't seen it before.  They interviewed a bunch of the staff and at least one kid.  At the end of the show they did a 'what happened to them' segment on each of the people profiled.  The kid that was in PFC left as soon as he turned 18 and according to the show is doing fine.  I'd love to talk to that kid and see what he says now that he's away from them.

Explore the abuse of over the counter and prescription drugs among teens. The drugs abused range from common cough medicine to prescription pain-killers. For many kids these medications have become the drugs of choice. They carry less of a stigma than so called street drugs and "if a doctor prescribes them how bad could they be"? This is the story of five American teens and what happened when they became addicted. They tell their own stories in their own words from their first time, to rock bottom and the long road to recovery.

Looks like A&E is having more shows about drug use called "A Question of Life or Meth" on Dec. 19th and 20th according to their calendar. Might have PFC peeps in that too. Looks like they are scheduled for 4am also. Too bad I don't have cable.

All I could find was this page which has 8 episodes of "A Prescription for addiction". I don't know which episode has the Pathway person, maybe all of them. I will watch these when I have time.
