I never could quite get over the fact that these straight inc programs use 9-11 as a way to milk the public out of hard earned $$$. While this fund raising tactic is obviously appalling, it is also rather sac religious if you ask me. Granted, over the years, scaring the living shit out parents about their kids drug using sure has netted a steady income for PFC CEO Terri Nissley. She rakes in over $91,000 a year these days. But, whatever, so it goes on and on... I wonder if there is a legal way to stop them from advertising this 98% non-severity return rate/$1.5 Million per addict BULLSHIT... :bs: :bs: :bs: I mean, if my family member was killed on 9-11, I would be really pissed off about this program exploiting my loss.

"THE EVENT
This special evening has been a tradition for Pathway clients, graduates, and their families to
come together and celebrate their new life of sobriety. During this night, it often comes as a
surprise to many of our young people when they realize that they can have fun dancing with
peers and laughing with their family without being drunk or high.
Sadly, many teens do not get the help they need to overcome the life-threatening problem of
substance abuse because they lack financial resources. We can help some of these families
by offering “Teen Sobriety Sponsorships”. Please consider supporting our sponsorship
program by contributing to our annual event. Pathway Family Center is a nonprofit agency
and all contributions are tax deductible. We are grateful for all our supporters and the lives
they help save.
REASONS TO INVEST
Goal For Services
The goal for all services is a “drug and alcohol free, healthy, productive teenager who makes
good choices.”
Target Population
Pathway Family Center serves the families of oppositional teens. They are young people
who are hostile, depressed, angry and experiencing serious problems at school, and with the
law, family and friends. Families come to Pathway Family Center, after repeated episodes of
their child’s explosive tempers, police contact, school suspensions, drug or alcohol use,
stealing, suicide attempts and/or accidents. Their parents have tried everything to correct the
behavior, but feel powerless and that they have truly lost their son or daughter.
Effectiveness
Pathway Family Center offers a tried and true program. Objective evaluations by
professional investigators consistently find Pathway effective in helping youth and their
families and in providing a quality service. The most recent evaluations were conducted by
the University of Detroit Mercy (2001) and CARF (Commission on Accreditation of
Rehabilitation Facilities) (2007). Pathway received the high mark of “Exemplary
Performance” in the family component of treatment from CARF.
Pathway Family Center has served thousands of teens and their families.
Independent outcome studies reflect the following results:
98% Non-return to prior drug severity
82% Presently clean and sober
90% Improved quality of life
88% Improved relationship with parents
88% Improved self-esteem
Community Benefit
Substance abuse costs taxpayers close to $1.5 million per drug addict each year. (JT Direct
on findings from PricewaterhouseCoopers) (2008). Pathway Family Center eliminates the
cost of detention, law enforcement, addiction related healthcare, and lost potential of youth
for many of those we treat."
