A report has been circulating that the once-revered child abuse guru, Virgil Miller "Fr. Cassian" Newton has suffered a heart attack. I certainly hope this is true. The report goes on to state that he is still alive, and now recovering at home. I certainly hope this part is erroneous.Either way. you should call him @ (727) 392-3437 and ask him how he's doing. Not really surprising, the heart attack, if you remember how red his face would get when he was going off on tirades back in Straight.I'm kinda hoping he lives through this and then gets a wicked case of testicular cancer...........
CosbyII, you write like you have done no research into the teen "treatment" industry. Ever hear of the kids whose estranged parents put their kids in these programs out of spite for one another? How do you explain kids who don't have drug problems going into programs but having them when they come out? Dead kids? Newton screwed over so many kids for life, many died... you really have NO idea. He could die 100 times over and it still wouldn't be fair to those he affected. C
Holy Shit! How compassionate. It is posts like these that give us all pause and serves as a reminder that many of the children placed truly needed intervention and also brings us to the sobering fact that they are not all successful. I am sorry that anger and lack of compassion for others still consumes you after all these years.
If a person is despondent or lacking in empathy towards others I dont believe this can be attributed to a persons stay in a program. It was probably there to begin with and the program wasnt successful in dealing with it or the child didnt try hard enough when they were there.
