What is Happening Here?
« on: August 21, 2008, 01:38:35 PM »
The AARC program is based on the fundamental that chemical dependency is a disease. Adolescent substance abuse is defined as a psycho-social, genetic, chronic, progressive and relapsing disease affecting every dimension of the adolescent and their family members’ lives.

The AARC program provides progressive, structured stages of treatment from primary recovery through intermediate and advanced recovery.

Well, that's the first mistake and misrepresentation.

Dont see what is too bad about it.  I am sure he is busy enough, as it is, running the place.

You guys really need to get your stories straight.  When we question Vause's credentials, one of your "defenses" is that he is not really in that much direct contact with kids and doesn't really "run" the place.  After all, he's hired qualified staff to do that, right?  He's not using virtual slave labor by utilizing "grads" as counselors, right?  The psychiatrist on staff has an initial visit with all patients and has at least SOME continuing care and working knowledge of their cases and treatment plans, right? (I refer you to "A Moms'" (mother of a recent inmate) posts which tell us pretty much the exact opposite.

Christ you people are sumpin' else.

I see you can copy/paste out of Webster's.  Congratulations. What I'm asking you is how involved is Vause with the kids and their "treatment".  We keep hearing differing stories depending on what action or inaction you guys are attempting to defend.

Is Vause allowing people to mistakenly believe that he is, in any fashion, a member of the medical community?  I understand the difference between an MD and  PhD., what I'm asking is how prone to correcting this mistaken belief is he?  Newton was and still is notorious for letting misconceptions float on by.  People like Vause and Newton have a deep need to be seen as the ''answer guy''.  The one who knows all and is above question and reproach.  There is a clinical term for people like them. Malignant narcissists.

In Straight it was common practice for the group staff (basically graduates with zero clinical training to be doing the job they're doing) to be "overseen" by actual clinicians.  At least that was what they told the parents and HRS.  Of course, it was complete bullshit.   They told my parents that I was being seen regularly by a doctor.  Total bullshit.  Never once did I see any  medical professional during the two years I was incarcerated.

In other words, ya got no critical thoughts of your own and can't form a valid opinion other than what you've been given by AARC.  That's ok.....just admit it.  More copy/pasta.  More regurgitation of what AARC has shoved down your gullet.   How proud they must be of their accomplishment in you.
