That teacher should have just sent a note home to the parents advising them that toy guns are not allowed. End of story.
Why does the toy gun of a 6 year old have to become such an ordeal? That zero tolerance shit sux big time. You really have to be braindead to think all that shit is a good idea. The local schools here are threatening to call in police when grammar school kids get in playground scraps. Another crock of shit.

Listen, with all the killing, injuries and threats made with guns, I don't think any type of gun whether it doesn't look like one or not should be allowed. BTW, where are the parents common sense on this, why would you let your child go to school with a toy gun. What message is that sending out.
No this is not over the top, being dramatic or anything else. We have lost a lot of kids to guns in the last 20 years, let alone the untold stories of threatening gestures with guns that went unknown, threats off school grounds ect....
There is no place for any kind of gun at school. Their parents should be punished also, maybe with tax finding or make the parents contribute to the Columbine Fund.

What criteria would we give to teachers?  I know of a few teachers who have never even seen a real gun.  So if a kid took out one of the guns below which one should the teacher react to?
I think the green one at the bottom may be okay, but what about the others?

Just so everyone here knows, Danny just sent me a threatening PM. Apparently he got upset when i asked him why he kept derailing the threads here. I now have zero tolerance for Danny. It is the one time that a zero tolerance policy makes sense.

He still does that? Ugh anyway. I agree in that case and for his earlier comment re: "you should be shot by real guns" there should be zero tolerance for Danny Bennison.

I have and they are fun.  If they are all distinguishable like that one is then I would agree that they could change their policy to allow "Nerf" guns.  But I am not familiar with how they all look.

Oh, here is are little over energetic intellectual coming out to play with us again. Her little snarky remarks are so cute, hey kimmy.

Serious side and back on topic;
1) kid brings in make believe gun, cops doesn't know, shoots kid.
2) Kid brings in make believe gun, another kid who has real gun doesn't know, shoots kid.
3) Kid moved to another state/school district because of trauma from being victimized in shooting at another school, kid brandishes fake gun, first kid doesn't know goes into shock. Realized terror all over.
4) put your own in.
