Study Rates Adolescent Drug Treatment Programs
« on: February 27, 2008, 10:43:24 PM »
This is a braodcast from NPR in 2004. Study done by researcher:Mathea falco Background: worked for govt. narcotics division. Now is president of Drug strategies.com.
Study info is available at http://drugstrategies.com, and also here: http://archpedi.ama-assn.org/cgi/content/abstract/158/9/904?maxtoshow=&HITS=10&hits=10&RESULTFORMAT=&fulltext=treating%2Bteens&searchid=1094586505532_999&stored_search=&FIRSTINDEX=0&journalcode=archpedi
http://www.npr.org/templates/dmg/dmg.php?prgCode=ATC&showDate=06-Sep-2004&segNum=15&NPRMediaPref=RM

Let us discuss this stuff...I mean wow, if they have had a study that says these treatments of teens are not effective then why no action. Why is America still not caring for their children? The public needs to keep demanding that our society will tolerate this no longer!
I think these people are bogus anyway. look here:

This is also a link from their website: http://www.drugstrategies.org/pubs.html#free
Just the name smells of a Semblerite to me; who agrees?

Suspicions confirmed: direct link with the DFAF: http://www.drugstrategies.org/links.html

So, basically I view this whole study thing as propaganda put out by the DFAF.

I think you are correct.

Propaganda to avert from the real problems. The focus is on "drug problem" and mentions how good a program is. There was no mention of brainwashing; only the idea that a kid gets hooked on the program early. They make it sound like the kid has a choice. This is misleading. No information about how damaging a program is. Putting the entire blame on a kid with an imaginary drug problem as usual.

Everything in these links points the wrong way. It seems like an attempt to present programs as a reasonable choice. It also seems like there are good and bad programs. I have seen no evidence of any good programs. This is an attempt to appear credible. It's like they're trying to say,"we aren't perfect but we're getting there and here's some scientific analysis to prove it". Bullshit.

This study is bogus.

There is a 100% chance that programs are bad. That's my study.

The first 1 to 2 months is when the brainwashing occurs (or is supposed to occur). Let's stay focused on that. Why would any program that wants to help any kid, not allow communication with their parents in private? There is no logical answer supporting programs. Why the isolation from reality and outside world? There is no logical answer for that. Why no church until 4th phase? No logical answer. Why no education until a certain phase? No logic. Why is everything about programs similar to destructive mind control cults and seem to utilize brainwashing tactics? There is a logical answer for this question; programs ARE destructive mind control cults that employ refined brainwashing tactics.

They focus on the parents fears and create a world where the problem is all a disease in the kids brain and they alone have the answers to save the family. This is all a lie and a good cover to prevent anyone from asking the questions that really need to be asked. What is happening in these programs. If they are so good, why is it that noone is allowed to see inside?

First phase is brainwashing phase.  We know brainwashing is real, we know this is the hinge on which the industry pivots, so why is it so difficult to convey this reality to the general public? Obliterate first phase or the first 3 months of isolation in a program and you have essentially crushed the programs ability to operate. Just a thought.

You make some excellent points; the only "logical" answer is control. Programs need complete control in order to manipulate the kids' minds to their liking.

I hate the communication control. HATE it. Twisted bastards.

If a teen is in a mental hospital, there are visiting hours. If a teen is in a juvenile detention facility, there are visiting hours. If you abuse visiting privileges (like bringing in contraband), they can cut you off, but otherwise even mental hospitals and prisons offer more access than programs.
