to apply or not?
« on: December 26, 2007, 10:39:31 AM »
I am considering applying for disability. I have been suffering from ptsd for a long time and have not recieved any support or theropy for it. I would not recieve anything monitary however it would be an aknowledgement of the childhood trama I suffered in straight. I have kept silent and stayed ashamed for so long living in the shadows of trama. I have been to afraid to seek help or support and I see now that it would be very healing for my suffering to be aknowledged and legitimized. I still have doubts as to the possibility of getting real help and support. I still fear being retramatized and told its all in my head or to get out of my head. I am sick of this crime going unaknowledged let alone being unpunished. Is this a frutile quest or should I pursue disability? I would be lying if I said it hasn't severly altered my life in very negative ways, not that I am not strong. I have had to be extremely strong, alone, and iscolated. Has anyone here gone down this road? Thanks, this forum has been my only form of support!

Interesting - this captcha reads "vietnam one"

Vietnam Won?

the program traumatizes an individual in such a way, that they never fully recover.

are you (the previous poster) saying that the program does not own you? were you even in a program? if you recovered, let us know how you did it.

thanks

well I actually wasn't aware that it was in fact influencing the choises I've made...It's like the child who has an alcholic parent, then marries one? You don't want to but you do. I have since connected the dots and am very angry about the abuse I sustained and survived as a teen in a straight spin off in late 80's. I have been silenced by trama and shamed for so long, now I'm angry and I want an aknowledgement of these crimes...that still continue today! If more of us demanded aknowledgement from the gov. maybe they would see it is not in their best interest to support these private abuse mills!

I escaped Straight Stoughton back in '86, called my alcoholic parents to tell them to have a wonderful life, finished school, made a life of my own.

When I discovered this place, I was obviously thinking about it.  But my thoughts drifted more to "what were the parents thinking?"   There are moments of incredulous anger, but it certainly doesn't control me.

Trolls. So predictable. So repetitive. Vague shaming statement to a survivor "for not moving on whith his/her life", contrasts their own  "moved on life".

(so moved on, they post on a survivor forum on their christmas vacation chiding survivor)

i agree.

we are here to heal and i appreciate all who share their story. what happened was/is a CRIME.

has anyone reading here taken legal actions that they could share with us?  i called a lawyer in west palm beach by the name of barry silver. my source *trevor aaronson" said 'he was the man'

barry silver is knowledgable about straight/growing together and when i explained that my amnesia recently lifted and i was having terrible flashbacks about the unspeakable abuse.... all he said was... it will never hold up in court.

we have a canadian example of child abuse that held up in court after many years and many tragedies. it is the accessed by the name DUPLESSIS ORPHANS.

the program taught children to mindlessly attack each other, kindness may still be vacant in some hearts. can we be gentle and supportive of each other? i think most of us are.

hey, we know the government has experiemented with human psyches and more. if we don't take them on, if we don't hold all who are responsible for this mind-rape accountable... well that seems like a huge job, but it's the only one i care about now. NO MORE CHILDREN SHOULD DIE OR SUFFER.

many advocates have worked hard towards this goal, with some impact, but how can we do more?. i here, i'm ready, i'm willing, though bruised and fractured, i will never rest until we make our voices heard and respected.

thanks for listening.

Just so happened I was visiting the 'rents, so the thoughts took me back.

A "troll", if you would read your 'net dictionary, is one that posts only to inflame.

I only suggested you not let bad memories control you, but I can see by your immature name-calling, that you're still stuck in adolescence.

you're a troll that doesn't necessarily inflame as i have bigger fish to fry. are you insulted that you have been called a troll. ?

but you like it, you like to hurt people, it's okay, maybe someday you'll get over it.

what fuels your judgement?. you are very interesting because you are doing the same thing that you act insulted about that others are doing to you.

why don't you just go take a shit, then flush, oh sorry there you go down the toliet, bye mother fucker and i'll be an adolesant name-caller if i wanna be.

FUCK YOU TROLL BREATH

hey does that take anyone back to RAPS and FLAPS?
this was s'pose to be a post about someone who needs medical help and it has turned into pure nonsense.

please lets help each other. thanks for listening

these acts of abuse could be classified as a life felony

and warrent a sentence of life imprisonment upon conviction

FLA code - section 775.15(1)(a)

capital of life felony may be commenced at ANY TIME

contact the State's Attorney's Office where the acts/abuse occured

discuss matters of procecution with that office

and the victims/witness coordinator

also retain a private local attorney to explore your options of procecution

and at the very least a civil lawsuit
