survivor of kids---looking for help and readers
« on: December 15, 2007, 02:50:21 PM »
i am working on a paper for school about k of bc and what it represents socially and i was wishing for readers and comments. i was a fellow victim 85-86. its a research paper and it is still very much a work in progress. the working title is

Might makes right and other ideological stances that contribute to the current violence or how I learned to love the shock and awe

http://despinasophia.wordpress.com/

in an ongoing attempt to heal--sometimes the ptsd hits hard---i went back to school. im writing this paper for a research writing class and though its raw and disturbing, the act of making it a solid composition is providing an interesting distance and perspective. maybe empowering? i hesitate not sure if thats really the right word--

i have been dreaming about a collection of voices speaking out since i began the project, feeling like that program shut me up for too long , i wonder if others feel the same way.

sincerely,
d

your writing is so good!!! I also went into a straight spin off in 87 for approx. 2 yrs. and it shut me up for 20 yrs. so full of shame and the burden of everything being my fault? I was a child and I had no history or record of drug use. I go back and forth between rage and shame. I try and move on but it is always with me, mostly the fear and iscolation. I wish you all the luck in the universe completing this project. I would like to be of more help, I.m just not able yet.

If you have a good library you can also check out some government documents. The LEA cut off funding for The Seed, so Straight moved into the white middle class suburbs to get paying clients. Congresspersons still advertised fundraisers in official congress sessions. There's some interesting stuff if you go into The Congressional Record. There's some interesting stuff if you go into secret gov't files, too, and someone out there knows it. I guess we'll get those when we are old and gray, find out yes we were tagged as experiments, yes Straight taught the U.S. gov't just how to make prison reform schools for ALLEGED child "terrorists" in Iraq. Or, we could storm the Bastille a little sooner.

By the way, I'm still curious to know the true nature of the connection between Disney and the Judge Rotenburg school in Mass.

Can I say that, "storm the Bastille?" Or is that the sort of thing that got Jose Padilla in so much trouble? If I can't say it, can Mickey Mouse? Does Jason Bourne satisfy us? etc. gotta go.

nice writing pompa gira, not only impressive writing, but it gave me a clear sense and nightmare of what it must have been like. i have desired to understand and i am willing to 'go there' because ever since my daughter was kidnapped and placed in a 'program' - i have wanted to be with her. she will never fully recover from the torture,  but she is alive.
