new here; 2 cents on liberation
« on: December 15, 2007, 02:17:52 AM »
First post to these here fornits things. It would have been nice to know sites like this existed like fifteen years ago when i got out of boarding school for bad kids but, fuck it, i'm glad to know y'all are here now.

Found out about this about 2 days ago.  been trolling since and learning a lot of history i didnt know (synanon and all that).  Its really addicting trying to put together all the connections of literally thousands of people and staff and stuff (concepts in common also).

Yeah, I know the Carey's, and Tim Brace, and Rea Kreider, and god knows who else in common from the emotional growth circuit of unlicensed hacks that get off on hassling kids.

They wern't called propheets at my school, though we had some fucking workshops let me tell you.  Did anyone else have to clean the Van; all day?  You will know what i mean, if you know what i mean.

At first it was really disturbing to find all this old stuff that brings up the past, but I talked to someone I see weekly today about it and now I am not tripping anymore.  It was cool to actually just be able to tell someone what had come up and be pretty well over at least the feelings (paranoia, ancient history, etc.).

And for anyone who says, gee, yeah it was hard but i'm glad i have the friends so it was worth it...

Screw you.  Thats like someone in a war saying, yeah, actually i'm glad we fought and killed together, 'cause now i have such good friends.  You can make friends in the natural course of your life (w/o wnayone getting hurt on purpose).  And hard times will come up naturally, beleive me, people don't have to create them for teen-agers artifically.

Anyways, thats just my two cents on that.  Yeah, finally I can listen to Mother, and Lean on Me, and Alive, and stuff without getting emotional.  Mother used to make me cry.  Now I have the mp3 and occasionally listen to it for fun.

As far as busting people out, nah.  But if you are serious about some form of liberation project you can always do the Rainbow tecnique.  Just get a buncha dam hippies and stuff together; maybe a school bus or a van or a coupla cars and some pots and pans and food and guitars and drums and shit and go find a cool camping or squatting place right around near where said hell hole is and have like a two or so week open invitation gathering for everyone that wants to eat free food and live in peace and harmony and smoke a buncha ganja and swim in the creek and stuff.  You'll be noticed for sure, right?

I guarantee you half the school will run away to the gathering.  For sure the eighteen year olds and once they get there, tell them the truth.  They don't need the school to make it on their own.  That its a fear tactic and a facade.  Its happened before by accident, no reason not to lead by example.

Anyways, thanks for being around and listening to my remonitions and just giving me a place where people understand where we were (good and bad).  Just wish I was a consenting adult, ya know!

Peace and Love,

icomeanon@nowyousee me.nowyou

ps  did anybody in your friends one ever have to fight to get out of the circle?

I'll never forget flipping out when they (staff peoples) called my friend a whore for the last fucking time in my opinion; and they told me to sit down and i dont think they knew what to do because i was screaming at them because at this point my friend was like my sister, and i have sisters, and i was sooooooo sick and tired of them treating her like that....

anyways, yeah, good times.

While I understand the sentiment of that statement, and that's how you feel, I disagree. All of us found ourselves in an unacceptable situation. Regardless of how we got there, we were there. The only way I got through that school was the friends that I made there. And a lot of them are still close friends of mine. But it wasn't something that I chose. You think of it as being soldiers in a war, I think of it more like being in a POW camp and surviving.

Did you have the Fantastic voyage song? About flying? Nobody's been able to figure out who sang it, and there's been a lot of research done on that song. I'm starting to get a little suspicious that a bunch of synanons got together and had a little recording session.

My brother used to wear a t shirt that said "middle class hero". I wanted to rip that thing off him and burn it, but it also made me laugh, so there you go.

I was at RMA in Idaho, that was in the brother's propheet. Sucked.

Yeah, I guess I'd have to have more information on the song as i've never heard of fantastic voyage.  But, about flying there was a couple.

Alive by Neil Diamond they played when you made a breakthrough and your whole peer group lifted you up in the air and ran around with your crying body like you were flying for a while.

Also, my friend and I (who has since passed) used to dance in the workshop room while setting to an old #$&!* song, fame (possibly off the footloose? soundtrack) that went i'm gonna live forever, i'm gonna learn how to FLY; high; i'm gonna make it heaven, and i'm gonna make it tonight; FAME!  I don't know what it was from but it was discontinued for whatever reason by the time we found it with the other tapes so i don't know which mindfuck it was from.

Do you know any of the lyrics?

Also, did you guys have the Moody Blues song The Orange?  I found out this year or last something funny, at our graduation you got to pick a song for yourself and my best friend asked for the Orange (chuckle); but they wouldn't let him have it because it was just weird.  That would have been fucking hilarious.

As far as the friends thing goes yeah, sure, agree with you Wally; maybe the war wasn't the best example of what I meant, it was just an off-the-cuff analogy.  The point was I would have liked to have had the CHOICE to put myself through what basically was a form of hypnosis, as it gave people, and still does in some ways none of us fully understand, ways for situations and most scary, particular people to have a sort of control of us, actions, thoughts, feelings, etc.  Years later.  If I had known better I would never have been down for that (and still wouldn't).

Cool... glad people wrote back.  This is cool.

Lovin' you...

Mine was the Rocky theme. How gay is that.

Sorry to hear about your friend. That was from the movie Fame, about a bunch of dance students in New York I think. Came out in the early 80's yeah? And I'm not sure which mindfuck it was from, but I know they played it when we came out of our summit workshop (6 grueling days) and there was all that dancing.

Someone on here actually found their graduation tape and had it, so I made him burn it into an mp3 and send it to me, I'm going to send it to you right now in the email here. He thinks I'm crazy, but I find it quite pleasing, which in itself is a little disturbing, even for me.

I've never heard of this but I'm gonna go find it, and then picture someone walking down for graduation to it.

Actually though, just thinking about it, we had to fight to get IN to the circle.

That's from the Summit. It's what they played after you acted out your solo stretch successfully in front of everyone, and they carry you around on their shoulders. They literally called it flying. I have it written down in my scrapbook. (BTW, in case people forgot, the "stretch" exercise was otherwise known at the party. That whole costume shit. You did the party with everyone, then you did solo stretches in the same manner that you do it for your contract.

Sounds like they changed it to individual music, which was what we did with the rocking exercise. Did you guys have that? This is the one where your entire peer group cradles you like a stupid baby and rocks you. I remember my song was Joan Baez's "Forever Young" since I posessed such a raging hard-on for the childrens' propheet and that whole inner child crap while I was in program. I figured that if I looked at everything as if I was five again, it wouldn't seem so ridiculously absurd.

I'm considering creating a stretch thread, where people can contribute what each stretch meant. I have about twenty of them in explicit detail, because I was one of the people who was supposed to help with costumes.

No, heheha, we didn't have that song.  Your right though, it does really suck!  As for who does it, it is eerily familiar (really into old classic rock, etc.), my first thoughts were like yoko ono, the mamas and the papas or like joni mitchell or something like that but as i got further into it, it actually seemed closer to like maybe the same band that did the rocky song; at the end of eye of the tiger, you know when they're like... trying hard now, duhn da duhn da duhnduhnduhn da da da da; anyways you get the picture...

as for the brothers keeper circle itwas the same for us, except every once in a great while their was someone who (usually a super young kid) was really loved by everyone when they first got there and were resistant to help and confrontation and people's "love" so they would actually put them in the middle instead and they had to fight their way out as a way to show them how much they push everybody else away.  Etc., Anyhow.

Maybe its not called the orange, this should be the song though...

icome anon

p.s.  those songs we're so so terrible.  No one has a memory for that shit like my best friend and he brings up lyrical tirds from way back now and then that get me rolling on the floor laughing.  Like,

"she shortchanged a sailor, while working the latenight shift"
or
whatever from everydog has its day; where its like

or
hang on, i'll get back to you with those other lyrics, you guys got to check out this fucking song;  it still cracks me up something fierce...

its not called the orange, its called "the balance" and its off the album a question of balance.  i just scored it from bittorent.

I was in charge of the costumes too! I made it through my Summit notebook a few nights ago and got to the part where I described in intimate painful detail what everyone was, and what they had to wear and do. I laughed so hard I cried.

Create that thread. I'll be there.

haha. I was "I am a powerful and forgiving woman"

What was it with women and forgiveness? Were they hoping we would forgive the crap they put us through?

That's so wild that the brothers keeper changed it so that you had to fight your way *out* of the circle. We had to push our way *in* (and fail every time). It was supposed to symbolize exclusion. How you keep people out, how you keep yourself out. But what was fighting your way out supposed to symbolize? That doesn't even make any sense.
