Up to my old tricks, whut?
? I admit I used my sexuality to lure male staff, to get them fired, yeah so what! I wasn't the only one who did that. I think that there is abuse that goes on in RTC's however, I didn't see any, or hear of any, during my stay. But what you all fail to get, is there is a lot of abuse that goes on outside of treatment centers. In fact, a lot more abuse goes on outside the walls, then inside the walls.
The point isn't whether or not abuse happens outside of programs, the point is that they are abusive, and should not be. You can't excuse abuse in a program because it happens elsewhere anymore than I could, say, rape you, and excuse it because someone somewhere else got raped in a worse way.
Right? I mean if I bought you dinner afterwards it would make it all better just like with your logic regarding excusing a program's abuse, right?
A ton more. You know it, and I know it. Period.
Well scale wise of course. Programs are a tiny bubble world that represent a fraction of the country and have a tiny fraction of the adolescent population. The points are:
- They're abusive AT ALL
- The RATE of abuse is higher in them than outside of them
Clearly WWASPS didn't adequately teach you statistics.
It doesn't make it right that it happens at all, but you all exaggerate the hell out of it. Making it sound like all programs kids are abused, mentally, physically, and sexually.
Given what we've found out thats indicated to be a truth. You're not suggesting ANYTHING with any basis in fact to the contrary, rather, you're saying our extraordinary claims are extraordinary.
Well, um, no shit? 30 years of ZERO proof to show they're good, but 30 years of victims coming forth with CONSISTENT ACCUSATIONS OVER THOUSANDS OF MILES AND THREE DECADES IS SIGNIFICANT. YOU CAN NOT COUNTER THAT BY WHINING EXAGGERATION!
Oh that's right, I am here on Fornits where the majority of the posters believe all programs are bad. That none should exist, and that kids should be able to do whatever the hell they want even if it hurts other people.
Well, you're right, except we don't think kids should hurt other people. But you can't somehow counter that programs are wrong, shouldn't exist, and are abusive, by saying that you should be able to abuse a bad kid so they can't hurt others themselves.
The point is ethical treatment, and only when necessary, and when not necessary, an ethical treatment OFFERED, not COERCED.
No amount of putting words in our mouths will change our position, except when you preach to the choir of programmie lurkers.
