Local Fornits Chapters
« on: September 27, 2007, 09:07:34 AM »
I'm feeling slightly inspired by the grassroots thread. In a rogue action all of my own, and to annoy ginger, I'm going to promote the new local fornits chapters.

The purpose of these local chapters is for us to put into action many of the  concepts that we discuss on these forums. Mind you I strongly recommend the actions put into play are legal ones.

First Each Chapter will be required to present a flobbergizen. A flobbergizen is a short document requesting recognition from the friendly admin staff here at fornits.

This document, the flobbergizen, will need to be brief and to the point. Please refrain from going all magna carta on my pale white ass. If you do attempt to turn in a dead Russian author's version of a flobbergizen I'll personally fly out to where you live and leave a bag of burning dog crap on your porch.

Here is a sample flobbrgizen:

To Fornits Admin Staff:

We, the pimps and hoes of Newark, humbly request recognition of our local chapter of Fornits. In return for presenting you with an annual tribute we acknowledge that our protection from the scourge of TSW will be shield us from bags of flamming dog turds. Also we acknowledge that said recognition will earn our local chapter a mention on the fornits home page.

Our annual dues are:

0 dollars..

Our ability to locally harrass and impede the unlawful incarceration of children:

unlimited..

Signed:

I don't know if people are spread out too much geographically for this to work? Or do you think get outside people to help that don't post on this forum?

Sounds like you are saying the group should form first, then you will give them a forum on fornits. If that was going to happen, wouldn't it have already happened? Do you have local groups that exist already?

Nope, but I'll be working to start one once I get settled down in the States come november.

You could consider starting your own even. Any ideas on how to make the whole idea work?

You don't need more than a couple of like minded folks.

Nope. It's taken quite some time now for a decent network of people to come together who are self educated enough on the issue and inclined to do this sort of thing. I think we've got that now and  we can get something rolling here if we don't take ourselves too seriously. Events should be fun even if there's often a sober aspect to them. I hereby humbly submit the following flobbrgizen for

To Fornits Admin Staff:

We, the disorganized malcontents of NW Pennsylvania do humbly request recognition of the Slippery Rock chapter of Fornits. In return for an annual tribute we fully expect you crazy bastards to come camp, swim, sing and talk around the bonfire and generally relax and take a break from life once in awhile. Also we acknowledge that said recognition will earn our local chapter a mention on the Fornits home page.

Our annual dues are:

0 dollars..

Our ability to revel and recreate and give rest and appreciation to those who harrass and impede the unlawful incarceration of children:

better than average

Cool west coast represent! We might even share a latitude, American missed you and welcomes you back with open arms. You didn't forget the pledge of allegiance while away did you?   Seriously though, I've never been to Oregon but I heard it's pretty and that you guys don't want any Californians moving up there so you don't improve your road system. Is that true?

Doesn't stop any of you.. most of Eastern Washington has been over-run by expat Californians on the run from drive bys and smog. Can't say that widening the gene pool of that part of the state has hurt any though.

I'm looking at Portland due to the presence of several large universities. It also has a phenomenal public transit system and some decent jobs available. Being out of the work place in the US did my resume no favors, but I'm not to worried. I've done plenty of shit work in the past.

I like rain alot. Keeps me cool and it is easier on me than the heat. I've suffered from a couple bouts of heat exhaustion so I tend to suffer in the heat more than the rest.

Back on track..

Serious issue at hand here.. Local Chapters..

I was thinking we could use Cafepress to sell t-shirts, mugs, anything we needed. Very very small profit margin to help pay for the bandwidth here at fornits. The point isn't to make money but to provide items at a reasonable cost for those who want it.

I know I wouldn't mind an embroidered polo shirt with the fornits logo on it.

Also the regional chapters could develop materials for their own use and then post them on a special forum here on fornits to be used by other chapters. Through this mechanism we can share power point shows, fliers, and a variety of other materials.

The purpose of course is two fold:

Direct advocacy against local programmes and the raising of public awareness.

As a person I find it much easier to ignore or even discredit what I find myself reading or watching on the internet. Afterall it is the internet and it normally makes it just a bit suspect. Had I not had my own experiences I would probably have written off fornits as a collection of crazies.

Yet in person it is much harder to ignore someone trying to speak to you regarding something as important as child abuse. People do it, but I'm hoping a local face or organization of faces can bridge the gap between the internet and the local community.

These are my serious, lame comedy free, ideas.. feel free to dissect discuss and propose revisions. Some of yall have been on a roll lately with some quality innovations.

We the urbanites of New York City humbly request recognition of our local chapter of Fornits. In return for an annual tribute we expect you to make at least one pilgrimage to get the munchies eat some Bagel&Lox and real Pizza with us. Also we acknowledge that said recognition will earn our local chapter a mention on the Fornits home page.

Our annual dues are:

Whatever we quasi-rich city dwellers can muster

Our ability to locally harrass and impede the unlawful incarceration of children:

atomic
