Peninsula Village: Staff Licensing Issues, Questions
« on: September 13, 2007, 02:56:43 AM »
Surprise, surprise...licensure isn't taken very seriously by PV.  Adam McLain, the psychologist and "clinical director" of the girls' continuum at PV since early 2003, was denied a state license by the Tennessee Board of Examiners in Psychology because his internship wasn't approved by the APA.  Mclain wasn't denied until March, 2004:

MINUTES
TENNESSEE BOARD OF EXAMINERS IN PSYCHOLOGY

Date: March 3-4, 2004
Time: 9:00 a.m., CST
Location: Tennessee Room
Ground Floor, Cordell Hull Building
425 Fifth Avenue, North
Nashville, TN 37247-1010
Board Members
Present:
Debra Davenport, MA., SPE, Vice Chair
Denise Davis, Ph.D.
Carl Gilleylen, Ph.D.
Anne McIntyre, Ph.D.
William Vaughan, III, Ph.D., Sr. P.E.
Carolyn West-Willette, Ed.D.

Application file review

...Dr. Gilleylen made a motion, seconded by Dr. Davis, to deny the application of Adam McLain,
Ph.D. as his internship is not APA or APPIC approved. The motion carried.

Which means Mclain wasn't a licensed Tennessee psychologist or a licensed health service provider, and yet PV allowed him to continue as clinical director, overseeing treatment.  McLain appealed...in November 2004:

TENNESSEE BOARD OF EXAMINERS IN PSYCHOLOGY
MINUTES

DATE: November 3-5, 2004
TIME: 9:00 a.m., CST
LOCATION: Tennessee Room
Ground Floor, Cordell Hull Building
Nashville, TN
BOARD MEMBERS
PRESENT:
Debra Davenport, M.A., Sr. P.E., Chair
Denise Davis, Ph.D., Vice Chair
Carl Gilleylen, Psy.D.
Robert Kores, Ph.D.
Janice Martin, Ph.D.
William Vaughan, Ph.D., Sr. P.E.

Licensure denial appeal by Adam McLain

The board was presented a licensure denial appeal by Mr. Harry Weddle, Litigating Attorney, for
Adam McLain, Ph.D. who is asking the board to determine his internship program is equivalent
to an APA or APPIC internship program.
Administrative Law Judge, Todd Kelly, presided over the hearing and asked all board members to
introduce themselves and state whether or not they have had communication with Dr. McLain.
With no board member having communication with Dr. McLain the appeal continued.
Upon conclusion of Dr. McLain’s testimony regarding his internship program, Dr. Martin
made a motion seconded by Dr. Davis, to accept the findings of fact that Dr. McLain’s internship
program was not APA or APPIC approved.
Ms. Davenport stated the Board of Examiners in Psychology took this action in order to enforce
the statutory laws and rules governing the professional practice of psychology in the State of
Tennessee and in order to protect the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of the State of
Tennessee.
Upon conclusion of the licensure denial appeal, Dr. Martin made a motion, seconded by
Dr. Vaughan, to have the rules mirror the statute pertaining to internship programs. The motion
carried. Dr. Kores and Dr. Gilleylen voted no and Ms. Davenport abstained from voting.
Mr. Kosten agreed to amend the rules to allow the internship program to be met in one of three
ways, equivalent of an APA program, an APPIC program or equivalent. Mr. Kosten stated the
hearing would be held January 16, 2005.

Following the timeline here?  McLain was hired in early 2003, his hearing is scheduled for January 16, 2005...Unlicensed and still "clinical director".

TENNESSEE BOARD OF EXAMINERS IN PSYCHOLOGY

William Vaughan, Ph.D., Sr. P.E.
Donald Brookshire, Psy.D.

Dr. Davis made a motion, seconded by Dr. Kores, to accept the internship program of
Adam McClain, Ph.D. as programmatically meeting the APA requirements and schedule
Dr. McClain for the written examination and issue him a temporary license. The motion carried.

We'll end it with him getting the temporary license.  Every girl who went through the PV program between April 2003 to January 12, 2005 might want to contact legal counsel.  Jersey Girl, Milkblood, you guys definitely need to look into it.  If you need documentation, ask for it, I'll get it to anyone who needs it.

One last PV riddle:  The Vanishing License.

Hello!  What's missing?  Hmmm...he's no longer a licensed psychologist or a health service provider.  I was told he never was one.

Riddles abound tonight, children.  Let's have PV clear them up.  Here's the guy who's attention you want:  Steve Petty(NOT Steve Perry, Mokara.  Steve Perry's the weenie boy from Journey - wrong weenie boy), PV's Administrator, reach him at http://www.peninsulavillage.org/pv-staff.cfm

I can't stay away from this wretched business, it won't let me.  Maybe I can at least sleep now.  Apologies to my most significant other.

this is some serious ammo on PV. I have known about this for quite awhile now, but had kept my mouth shut. McLain will get his one day, for what goes around, comes around.
That sonofabitch is a lying, ego driven, asshole who deserves only the hottest spot in hell.

Zen to Kreflo...come in Kreflo....Damage report, Mr. Kreflo...How are things on Flight PV?  Experiencing extreme turbulence and bad craziness yet?  Is Steve Petty white-knuckled on the stick trying to pull out of the nosedive or strapping on a parachute?  Tell him to call another former PV admin for advice...Don Vardell can proffer some "wisdom".  Oh wait, he's screwed himself at the moment.

Sorry...random associations and too much Gin-Zing-r.  Damage report, Mr. Kreflo?  Pack of Vantages in it for you...

A little advice from Adam McLain about how to get with the program at PV.  This should be listed on ISAC's warning signs.

How to Make the Most of Your Treatment Investment
We at Peninsula Village are genuinely committed to helping your child reclaim his or her life in a fulfilling and meaningful way.It is not only our duty, but our honor, to provide your child with the highest quality care. That care is not inexpensive. Typically, the cost for a student to successfully complete treatment can add up to between $75,000 to $200,000[ including insurance coverage, private pay,and other contributions. We recognize that treatment means a substantial investment for most families, and we want to help you get the biggest return for your money.

Below are 10 strategies that can make your child’s treatment more efficient and cost effective.

1. Commit to staying the course.Understand that your child will say or do whatever it takes convince you that he is being tormented on our assessment units. He will attempt to solicit sympathy,or place tremendous guilt on youfor placing him in this “awfulâ€

Hey, Zen.

WHEN are you going to get around to completely fucking ruining PV, exactly?

I'm a bit... of a bit-champer, and I've got a few thousand of my friends who just love to ruin people for the sheer reveling in the ruination and lulz of it all.

BTW, what of those pictures and other evidence? I'm sure that a few thousand web pages with them scattered over the internet and at the top of Google search results would be very useful, should you be so forthcoming. Just think twice about disclosure, because you will never, EVER get them back off of the internet once it is in the hands of anonymous.

They're already here, already lurking, already learning... but I'd like to hurry the process along, if you don't mind. they have this habit of... getting lots of attention.

I'd love to eviscerate the whole sick beast that is PV.  Pictures - we have our reasons for NOT distributing them willy-nilly.  We had to spend a lot of time getting them cleaned up and visible.

If you can do it without the photos for now, that would be grand. Taking pictures like that on PV property is an issue....perhaps if they were leaked, but I would never know about that.  The lawyer who forbade ANY distribution of the "restraint" (gang assault) is out of the case.  I think A START wanted us  to hold back, but given the CAFETY/NYRA/CAICA alliance, I've turned my back on the lot of them. All CAFETY had to do was offer Alex an ultimatum, if he didn't comply he would be ejected from the board of CAFETY.  CAFETY dragged their heels, and now check their CAFETY.org...dust devils blowing tumbleweeds through that ghost town.

You have no idea how I'm champing at the bit - we reported all this to the TDMHD, and careful research has shown TDMHD is too tightly connected to PV to ever perform a serious investigation, and I'm going to start posting the proof.  Sorry Hanzo, the TDMHD will not take down a major financial contributor to groups like TN Voices of Children.

It's tough to fight when you've got a mega-mart like Covenant Health with vicious lawyers and deep pockets.  Ask Deborah and DJ about long fights against HLA...

I'm looking for a smoking gun, and I think I've found one.  This week I'll post about the crony-ism between TDMHD and Peninsula Village with some clear and strong proof, which I'll pass onto the GAO while there's still a little time.

PM me if you have some ideas...I mean, my wife and I have been working on this for a little over a year, and at least we've gotten PV to the attention of a lot of people, and we got our girl out, which was the real victory.  It's tough, but we're getting there, especially with SettleForNothingLess's excellent help and hard work.

We'll get them.
