KidsofNorthJersey.com in need of rescue
« on: June 03, 2003, 03:18:00 PM »
Hey folks,
I still haven't heard from Webmistress. Looks like she hasn't posted here since the end of April. I hope she's OK. If anyone hears from her, please ask her to drop me a line of call me at 724-314-2707 and let me know she's alright.

Aside from concern for her, there's also the matter of the KidsofNorthJersey.com website and domain. The domain is set to expire at the end of the month. If anyone wants to rescue it, please get in touch with me so we can talk about how to go about it. I'll keep the content on the server for awhile. But that's costing me a little every month. So if anyone wants to mirror the site go ahead and do that and let me know. Or, if you want to take over the hosting fees please get in touch with me.

Thanks,
Ginger

Thanks to an anonymous donor for pledging to cover about half the year's website hosting fees.

Hello, all.  Todd the webmaster of kidsofelpaso.com here.

I collaborated much with Kim on the creation of kidsofnorthernjersey.com in the early days.  I just want to let anyone and everyone know that I would be more than willing to do whatever necessary to keep the "sister-site" alive for the long term.  I haven't heard from Kim in quite some time and I have no insight on her whereabouts but I am here, always here, and down to keep the ball rolling and fight the good fight against the continuing practice of treatment center abuse, in particular with the exposure of KIDS Centers of America, and the historical accounting of events that caused so many lives to be so deeply and adversely affected.

If anyone needs to contact me, I'm always at the webmaster email addy at kidsofelpaso.com or live over at thekidsbbs.com.  I'd be more than happy to help.  I'll email ya soon 'auntie gin'.

Todd

This post was in the archives from 051202, of course she has posted since, but..
Todd

""Well, folks, As some of u know, I was living in Florida & moved back to NJ with the husband & kids. We've been here for 3 months & things have not gone too well. We're getting a divorce & I am moving back to Florida. I'm kinda going thru a lot of shit right now & I'm not gonna be real into checking the boards. I know I am the "moderator" of this board & the website, but I have other things I need to tend to right at this time. I will be going to the conference as far as I know, and hope to see some of you there.
Sometimes life throws us curveballs & we have to deal with them & this is mine. The website will still be here, and the message board as well. I hope all of you will keep things going as they have been. I'm not leaving for TOO long, and I will check in every once in a while, but I'm not sure I'll be in too much of a mood to write. I have so much to do when I get back to Florida. I don't know what else to say, so I'm just gonna sign off with that. God Bless.""

Hey there Todd,
I got a pledge from somebody for $50. So if that comes through, and it's ok with the donor, I could renew the domain name, redirect it to a url on your site where you'll keep the konj site and apply the rest to forum bandwidth. Is that doable for you? Otherwise, it'll be about another $75/yr and nothing for bandwidth to just pay the bills as I now have things arranged.

There is not a "fragment" in all nature, for every relative fragment of one thing is a full harmonious unit in itself.

Antigen -

Pledge will be in mail today after work. I absent mindedly placed the envelope in the cabinet next to my 18 month old's teddy grahams in a mad dash to get his tiny majesty a snack. Just found it last night! Sorry for the delay.

Oh, no problem at all! I wasn't trying to rush you or imply anything. I just have this thing about, if I'm going to panhandle, I want everyone to know just exactly what the reason is, how much folks have given and exactly how I'm going to spend it.

We have till the end of June before the domain expires anyway and it looks asif we've got hosting handled. Even if Todd doesn't want to host the konj site content, I can always put it under fornits and alias the domain in the same way I proposed above (it would work like http://nutratrack.com/ which is actually just a subdirectory of fornits.com) if that's OK with you.

God but I hate panhandling anyway.

I trust your judgement. I know that however you allocate the support you receive you'll do it in the best interest of everyone. And thank you.

I'll email you soon, Antigen.  I am thinking about maybe lifting the data from the nj site, giving props to Kim for her effort, adding additional nj info in addition to adding long lost KIDS/SLC and KIDS/SC information, and expanding the kidsofelpaso.com site to include information from KIDS Centers of America in general.  I think it may be a good opportunity to "have it all under one roof" so to speak.  I would like to keep the domain as a redirect.  I'll talk to you more in my email coming soon.

Hey ya'll,
I just got off the phone with Kim. All's well, except the memory card in her computer and that should be put right in awhile.

Kim will be taking over the domain and hosting and, if it's OK with our anonymous benefactor, I'll apply the donated cash to excess bandwidth and past hosting fees.

Good deal.  I am glad all is well with Kim.  For Kim and everyone else, I am always here and willing to do whatever to keep the ball rolling and to keep the sister KIDS site alive and well.

Antigen - This is the New Jersey sender...did my donation get to you? I sent in out days ago. BTW, I'm sorry it couldn't have been more. Also, glad to hear Kim's up and about.

Yes M. And thanks very much. So, if the KNJ site winds up not costing me anything from here on out, is it alright if I apply that to past expense and forum bandwidth? We're not so stuck anymore that I couldn't just refund it to you since the reason for our needing it in the first place is no longer an issue.
