Look how many staff members have left HLA since September 2006- Josh Watson, Billy Pichon, Dan Mansfield, Doug Sills, Christy Jones, Nicole Fuselang, Brad Carpenter, Charles Cates and most of the teachers and countless other staff members in the Dispensary. It is unreal! Joe S., why would you stay as Headmaster and represent a school that has ruined their reputation like that? You better get out while the getting is good. How could you stand by a deceptive leader like Len B? When all the other people in administration have taken off, why would you stay?

Joe stays because Len has ingratiated himself with Joe by extending what Joe mistakenly believed was a kindness when he needed help. Len, of course, has never extended a kindness to anyone without chains, not just strings, attached. He makes a practice of this, and it has served him well over the years until the receiptants of these "kindesses" finally realize they are indendured servants and that they have fallen victim to his manipulation. Joe is an O.K. guy, but very weak and in a very difficult situation. He has chosed to be taken care of rather than care for himself and his family. You'll end up getting screwed like all those before you, Joe. I feel sorry for you, but you let yourself get in this situation and only you can get yourself out.

joe is not the only victim of Len's "chains". he extends his kindness to ALL parents about to send their kids to hla...but then parents figure out what it's all about and realize they are bound by len's chains no matter what they try to do.

i'm not prejudice against guidos, but it's kinda the "italian" thing to do. it's the way the mafia built up their empire - find people who need your help, help them, and then force them into doing "favors" (in in len's case, force parents to keep their kids at HLA); untill you decide they are not helpfull to you anymore, in which case you kill them (or in Len's case, fire and character-assasinate, pay them to shut their mouths and if not then sue sue sue)

Add Corky Prow and Kees de Vente to the list. You're a sweet guy, Kees, and I've always liked you; but you were hardly indispensable.

Corky is a different story. She is the only one in the business office, and in the whole damn school, who knows what is really going on financially. If it weren't for her, Len would have fucked far more parents than he already has. Corky had the integrity, and the balls, to stand her ground and refuse to do his dirty work. The parents will be the ones to really suffer from her leaving.

Face it, Len. You and what's left of your school are finished. Everyone around you knows it, except you, you paranoid little son of a bitch. For a while I enjoyed watching you deteriorate, but now I actually feel sorry for you. You are truly pathetic.

damn, if corky and kees are gone, i pray for the kids there now. corky was da shiznit, and so was her husband. kees was also a good guy, although he was always highly against 3rd tier religions, (wicca, satanism) and wasnt to fond of islam or hinduism, I still respect him to a small degree because although he was a hardcore christian, he brought in people to speak about all sorts of faiths....a rabbi, barry bailey, unitarianism, etc. i do have to admit that methodist guy kees favored and had come every other weekend was litterally a giant walking blob of shit. the methodist blob of shit once said that john lennon was "a greedy bastard" and the song "imagine" is a "selfish, evil vision of the world", and that lenon himself was "the spawn of satan".....after which he went into a 30min diatribe about how "ozzy osboure is also the spawn of satan" and is "corrupting our youth" hopefully with kees gone the methodist guy wont be coming back. if it was up to me i'd just stick to the rabbi, barry bailey, and the unitarian woman.

Corky was there for a very long time....I really liked her she was really sweet to my kids and used to give my son rides around her office on her rolling office chair when he was a toddler and he liked to watch her fish screen saver when he was in there. Her and her husband were both very nice. I hadnt realized she had left. I wish her well in her new endeavors.

Corky Prow has very high standards of honesty. She was always veryhelpful to us when our teen was at HLA. I am glad that she left because she is an asset to any workplace and needs to be in an honest, ethical environment.

Many (not all) hardcore remaining staff are co-dependent and need to be at HLA to resolve their own issues through the students. Some are arrogant, many are in denial about who they really are as people, some can't get jobs anywhere else and some prefer to be "big fish in little ponds."

When they are capable of putting aside their personal prejudices, they will become effective in the work they do with the students. Until then, most of what is done is negated through their own bad behavior.
