I was your typical teen and put my mother through a lot!
Hey hey - I have received some disturbing emails about my past as a teenager. I want to clear up these terrible things some people are writing me.

I put my mother through a lot after I quit gymnastics. I desperately tried to fit in somewhere! Of course like a lot of teenagers I sort of drifted with some kids that maybe I shouldn't have. But I did. Hey, no one has a perfect past.

My mother and I had some relationship problems for sure during this time. I was driving her crazy and she was driving me insane with her rules! You know, those stupid rules we think parents put on us just to make our lives miserable?

Anyway, we had our serious disagreements, some worse than others. That is why when she said she was looking for a boarding school for me I was relieved! I wanted away from it all. I went to Carolina Springs Academy who completely lied to us about who and what they were.

It didn't help me, it hurt me. It drove my mother and I further apart. I wrote some horrible letters to my mother during this time. I wrote from anger and rage from what I was going through at Carolina Springs Academy. Admittedly I exaggerated a lot like a lot of teens do. I know, I was a teen not too long ago. I just wanted to hurt my mother.

When WWASPS sued my mother for telling people what Carolina Springs Academy did to me, they started exposing my private letters. In the jury trial she won, they put my private thoughts I wrote in letters up on display. It really hurt me but I knew we had to be the voice for all the other kids out there that are still being hurt!

Now I am getting strange emails that some terrible people are again exposing my private ugly times as a teen. I don't blame my mother for anything that happened in the past and she doesn't blame me. It is all part of life and I am grateful to where it has brought us. Sure there are things I am not proud of, but why do people need to hurt us by putting all this out there?

I can only imagine it is jealously that my mother and I survived what they put us through and my mother's book will be a best seller, I know it! Maybe Carolina Springs Academy is suffering in enrollments due to my story, I don't know, but someone wants to hurt me and my mom.

I just felt I wanted to be upfront with parents, as a former teenager, we are only trying to fit in, find our place. Don't worry we do grow out of it!

Just a heads-up to parents, I heard Worldwide Association of Specialty Programs and Schools (WWASP or WWASPS) is now calling themselves Premier Educational Systems.

Read my Blogs, read my story before you make a decision for your teenager.

Ashlyn Scheff - Survivor of Carolina Springs Academy

Hey hey - Since posting my Blogs it seems someone is trying to hurt me and my mother. I received some disturbing emails about my private life as a teenager. I am not proud of some of my behavior, but it was a long time ago and I have moved past it and grown up! I still have a lot growing, but I can now see my past more clearly and I did give my mother a difficult time. I guess some people want to try to discredit my story and my mother's.

More details. Click here.

Ashlyn Scheff - Survivor of Carolina Springs Academy, SC

My story has long been on the Internet posted by my mother, Sue Scheff. "A Parent's True Story" is also my story and until now, it has been difficult to talk about.

Recently I visited a Therapeutic Boarding School and was so shocked to realize what a "real" program is like. You see, after what happened to me, my mother decided that if she could prevent others from going through the same experiences we did, it would give our negative time a positive purpose.

I know, it sounds stupid, but I am 22 years old now and I am finally starting to understand what she went through and more important, what I put her through! But that didn't give Carolina Springs Academy (WWASPS) the right to do what they did to us!

On this visit to a good school, I got to sit in on group therapy - WOW - it was amazing! There were several girls there that were recently transferred from Carolina Springs Academy and they shared their stories. Tears welled up inside of me, and I immediately called my mother and wondered why they are still allowed to hurt children!

I know we can't save the world, but I hope parents will listen to our story and our experiences.

My mother's book is coming out next summer and I know it will help so many families and it needed to be written. www.atwitsendbook.com

Our story is at http://www.aparentstruestory.com/ and check out my mother's organization at http://www.helpyourteens.com/

Ashyln writes, "Recently I visited a therapuetic boarding school and was so shocked to realize what a 'real' program was like."
Ashlyn goes on to say, "There were several girls from Carolina Springs Academy and they shared their story."

Is there a chance that this "real" program Ashland was visiting in June, might be the same program she went to work for this summer, along with her new husband; Harbor Oaks Boarding School?

If Ashlyn was SO SHOCKED to realize what a REAL PROGRAM was like:
what qualifies this 22 years old; who states her education is that of a stunt woman; and high school drop-out-gynastic to become a counselor in a boarding school that offers psychological treatment for troubled teens?

Interesting that this program Ashlyn was visiting seems to be populated with recently transferred female students from Ashlyn's former WWASP program, Carolina Springs Academy.  Is this just a coincidence that Ashlyn blogs against Carolina Springs Academy several times; and shows up at a facility, where a group of girls have recently transferred from this same program?

Ashlyn and husband are not listed and pictured on the Harbor Oaks staff page like all the other husband wife teams.  Wonder why?

Graduated International Stunt School? That's nice.
Loves career as gymnastics coach?  Really?
