Who Laments on How He'd Run HLA.... Aspen Style

This is for the dumbass we know as "Who".....

Wow, thanks for the information, I think.  Probably a good guess that you are not employed in any form of teaching capacity.

If the school has 160 kids there is no way they are going to hire 40 master level counselors (in my opinion).  This would be way over kill in the counseling department.  The way I read it is each group (13 kids) is assigned 2 master level counselors and under these counselors would be assistant counselors.  The master leveled counselors would oversee more than one group, while the assistant counselors would be more one-on one.  This would make more sense from a financial and therapeutic stand point.  I cant see why HLA would want to dedicate 2 MS to a group of 13 when they have assistants to help them.  So each group would have 2 counselors, but the counselors would have more than 1 group.

I am not saying this is how it is done, but I would have the master leveled counselors overseeing more than one group with the assistance of the undergraduates , if the standards allowed.
Does anyone have any state or federal guide lines that may shed some more light on this?

So to summerize my thoughts:

1)  There is a little disagreement on the interpretation of the counseling oversight, which is understandable based on the wording.

2)  They don’t appear to be violating any standards.

the who, you're an idiot. dont talk about hla when you dont know anything about it.

the "assistant counselors" are not actually counselors. they dont do any counseling whatsoever. they are essentially the nannies for the student body. their job consists of escorting kids around either in groups or individually, watching them as they do their day to day business, stand in the hallways during school hours, enforce rules, write people up, but usually it just involves standing around and taking orders over a radio.

HLA claims to have counselors with masters level degrees, 2 per peer group, 2 for every 13-15 kids. exept only about half had masters level degrees, and most counselors had at least two peer groups.

Like it was mentioned above.  The master leveled counselors may have oversight over more than one group while they get assistance from counselors with Bachelor’s degrees.
I think we can argue about this all day, but the bottom line is that HLA meets and exceeds all state and federal requirements in this area.  It appears you are hung up on the wording.

god, you are a moron.  if hla met or exceeded any standards they wouldn't have been forced to LICENSE.  running an unlicensed treatment center is only ONE of the instances in which HLA FAILED to meet or exceed standards.

you obviously know nothing of "state and federal requirements" or you wouldn't spout this OBVIOUS LIE.  is telling blatant lies part of "adding value and balance"?

FACT:  HLA was and is in violation of several state and federal regulations and has been given 6 months by ORS to either MEET or EXCEED their various deficiencies or CLOSE UP SHOP.

whom should readers believe, the ORS and CPS files showing dozens of violations at HLA and Ridge Creek, or the noted prvaricator and asshole, TheWho?

i'll stick with the oversight agencies who have handed down severe sanctions on HLA and Ridge Creek based on facts gathered from INVESTIGATIONS, nto some lunatic program pimp who claims to be bias neutral while promoting programs with LIES.

So getting back on topic, you cannot provide any specific areas where HLA is not meeting or exceeding requirements as they apply to HLA's Counselors.  Just the usual rhetoric

1) HLA employs Master leveled Counelors for the kids
2) HLA employs Bachelor leveled counselors for the kids.

I think after 4 days of no one coming to the table with information that this violates any standards we can agree HLA is in compliance (in this area) and move on.

listen, dummy, it's ALL BEENPOSTED BEFORE.  why are you so lazy?  do your own work.  HLA's and RC's violations have been posted in several threads.  just because YOU'RE ignorant, doesn't mean that the violations are any less factual.

to summarize:  TheWho is an ignorant bastard, and HLA/RC violations have been posted all over this site and elsewhere.

TheWho:  if all standards are/were met, why is HLA forced into becoming licensed as an RCF?  isn't the licensing issue a result of many violations over many years?  think about it, dildo.

Okay, I read thru and did not find any requirements inwhich HLA is violating as it applies to their hiring of Master leveled and Bachelor leveled counselors.

Please be specific, all you did was cut and past links to other peoples opinions and negative arguments.  I think we should take a look at what the state and industry dictates as standards and compare these to what HLA does.  Are they in compliance or not?

Then we should transfer this information, very clearly, to the parents thinking of sending their children to HLA.  Not vague accusations.

HLA hires and maintains Counselors with Masters and Bachelors degrees.  Does the state require something different and if so what?

If you have not had a kid at HLA and gone thru what HLA put us families thru, you really are not worthy of an opinion because you know NOT what you are talking about.

Great, so the question is to those who do know what they are talking about.
Are we set and in agreement that HLA meets or exceeds all requirements as they pertain to the hiring of Master and Bachelor degreed Counselors?

It sounds like a yes, because no standards have been brought to the table that show a violation in this area.

Lets give this another day to see if anyone can dig something up before we close it out, I think this is an important issue.

Don't feed the trolls, kids!

The quickest way to make The Who go away is to ignore him.  He feeds off of our responses to him.  Just ignore what he says - it's usually wrong and contributes nothing helpful to the conversation anyway - and he'll go away.

Amen.  But he won't let little details like he doesn't know what the hell he's talking about get in the wway of collecting referral fees for sending kids to HLA.

He obviously didn't read the links provided, because the first one shows hires without degrees of any kind.  He must have "missed" that one.

We're "all in agreement" that TheWho is a mron that has no clue about HLA or really anything else for that matter.

I suggested this a long time ago, and many (like yourself) have suggested it since...but it seems there will always be those tweakers who can't resist the urge to get into it with him....
